I'm having more fun with that one anon's Touhoumon hack because I wanted to try something with Transform and Shedinja. Turns out it works, and it's a shame there's few instances to take advantage of it. You can also use Nue but Mamizou is ideal as a Ditto because her HP stat is above average, and actually I think on the route you find her, her entries were accidentally swapped with Seija since I was finding plenty of those and they're supposed to appear on all routes but extremely rarely. Nue took an eternity to find.
My other mons are presently Reimu, Tojiko, Nue, and Junko, only beaten Misty so far, Surge is next. Also I think I fixed the screenshotting, had aspect ratio forced wrong somehow (4:3 when GBA is 3:2)

Are there any lists or diagrams of what the hitboxes are for various bullets? Circles of various sizes are fairly easy to figure out, and small things like kunai and diamonds are pretty much all hitbox anyway, but with more irregular shapes I have a hard time getting a handle on where I have to be to not die. It's usually bullets I think I've dodged that kill me; most of my deaths are with a full load of bombs because of this.
I died to Patchouli's fireballs four times in my latest run. Sakuya's knives ruin me as well.

I havent worked with video files in my life so I dont know what I'm doing, I have english subtitles and good audio but:

The first point is fixed by just editing the metadata to change the default streams. You'd be removing the default status from the Russian and music tracks and adding that status to the voiced and Eng subs instead. The third point is also fixed by muxing the tracks you want (the good quality video, audio, and subtitles) from those files into their own file.
There's a bunch of tools you can use to do this with the exact way dependent on which program you choose and the filetype of the videos you have.

I think it has to do with the context in which one becomes a youkai. The fortune teller had used magic to learn how humans were being oppressed by youkai, then hatched his plan to become one so he could be above it.
He intentionally turned himself into a youkai so that he could evade the natural order of things. Magicians on the other hand don't have the intention of subversion, they're just studying magic. This explanation only works if we're considering the natural order of things, since Seija's whole ordeal with Double Dealing Character was all about subversion. Its a SRPG.
Mechanically the way it basically works is that each character have three modes they can switch between when attacking(it carries over to the opponents phase and your next phase), and has a basic weapon triangle of focus>spread>phys>focus; the non-spread modes have penalties but are stronger than spread stat wise(focus gives you less movement and phys is either 1 range or suffers penalties at range based off of what weapon is used) .
There's also an equip system where you can equip up to three things shot-type, weapon(can only be used by higher tier units) and shield(this one is class specific), shot-types can only be changed before a battle, but shields and weapons can be held.
Those are really its only standout things in its current form. I'm tempted to add a special move system of sorts involving spellcards as a sort of MP, but haven't really finalized any sort of usable concept for it.

They do though, just to the center of the screen instead; its not that hard to grasp is it? Its not even clunky in action, its just odd to anyone whos use to normal fighting games and requires getting use to.
Urban/Hopeless got bogged down by their gimmicks which AoCF removed basically.

The dashing mechanics in AoCF seem dumbed down compared to Hisoutensoku because of the character's position being magnetized to the center of the screen. Because the characters are balanced to fight as though they're constantly airborne, there's no variation in attacks based upon "state" either. Something like a j.5a would be exactly the same as a neutral 5a anywhere else on the screen.
Unless I'm entirely wrong, and the state changes based upon momentum. Otherwise, here's these webms for comparisons in gameplay.

Some move versions are actually different when in the "air" under or above, so there is a difference.
You can also "land" cancel moves by hitting the center of the screen.

Normals outside of the center are separate moves mostly(I don't think any specials are effected), aerials are pretty much in the game(pretty sure only up normals have no aerial counterpart and just work in the air).
The real nerf to dash comes from everyone and their normals being retardedly big; which does hamper the game a bit.
