I'll honestly say that beer is an incredibly personal taste. Not an acquired one, but one that youj need to find that one beer that works for you. It's very specific, though, and being off even a little can result in a taste, yes, like piss or water etc.
I'd suggest trying new beers until you hit on one you like (That is, one you don't really have to nurse but could if you wanted to).
A lot of people here decry someone for not liking the taste of beer itself, but that's mostly because of what the taste is associated with, not the taste itself. Just keep trying until you find the right beer. And as an aside, don't forget that beer dehydrates you, so drink water alongside it if you find yourself drinking a lot to avoid a hangover, and try to avoid stairs if your tipsy or drunk. This isn't true, I've had plenty of IPAs that taste like a fart because the brewer either can't taste DMS or doesn't taste test his beer.
