Salt does not cause cardiovascular disease. It's the seed oils and nearly 40% dietary carbohydrate ratio that are the reason for that, which incidentally doubles as a description for junk food.
What happens is that seed oils *canola, vegetable, soy, corn, safflower, etc) are unnaturally warped under high heat and/or pressure, producing a toxic oil full of free radicals and lipid peroxides (which are like a turbo-mode free radical) that can sabotage the body in an incredible number of ways. What excess carbohydrate do is sabotage many of the defenses in the body (that evolved to reasonably prevent damage from minor day to day exposure of degraded fats such as from cooking over our normal lifespan).
Salt will only raise blood pressure in some individuals, most of which are suffering from hormonal disruption due to the previously carbohydrates (this is why the first thing you should do when experiencing erectile dysfunction is reduce carbs to 100 grams a day for a few weeks and see if that fixes it). Too little salt on the other hand always results in increase heart rate.
