Mario Kart 8 was by far the worst one.

The AI cheat the worst by far out of any Mario Kart game

At least the multiplayer wasn't broken and laggy for the one year people played multiplayer on it.

I'd be fine with the Mario Kart 8 AI if getting everything didn't involve getting first place in every race in every cup for every mode. Holy shit it's aggravating to get first in the first three races and then get slammed by some shitty item in the last race right before the finish line.

Mix cup, Double Dash.

DS is also good for races and battle mode AI.

Yoshi Valley N64.

Though it sort of changes depending on the game, sometimes a retro track can be better when it gets remade sometimes worse.

Didn't like Banshee Broadwalk in N64, but with ability to bump other karts in DS, it becomes fun to knock other characters off the track. While Baby Park has always been the best in DD but it's remakes lost the central barrier that items can pass through and MKDD item spam so they feel worse. While Toad's Turnpike in MK8 is a strange remake since the main hazard of traffic can now be avoided by driving on the wall. While Ribbon Road and Cheese Land got incredible 3D remakes that basically make them feel like brand new tracks compared to there flat 2D GBA originals.

It's the worst part of MK8 GP mode and it's made even harder by being able to only have one item and hoping you get either a shell or banana to defend yourself with instead of a coin.

I'm currently playing Mario Kart 8 on CEMU with an Xbox controller and it's fucking great.

I can't shill CEMU highly enough- it actually works for the vast majority of games flawlessly. The only one I've had problems with was Super Mario World.
