This game is not fun. No part of it is fun.

I tried to play it like 10 times, progressing a little and the uninstalling.

It also ridiculously large for low res 2D side scroller, something like 6 gigs.

Half of this time is me downloading this piece of shit with their piece of shit chink speeds.

No you don't download it through steam, only launcher.

Sprites look ok in screenshots, but they have like 2-3 frames for every animation, most attacks and abilities use same animations with different overlay effects, all looking like rip offs from Guilty Gear X, the dreamcast one.

There are like 3 music tracks for the entire game.

Story is some HUGE fucking wall of text, after each mission you can read this fucking anime story for 10~15 minutes if you're fast reader.

You have loading screens between each room in the dungeon.

You clear room in less than 3 seconds.

Loading screen is like 7 seconds.

You spend 2/3 of the game either reading shit story or watching loading screens.

Character designs look like ripped off characters from other games and animes with swapped colors, which is not a fucking surprise, it's a chinese/korean game after all.

Nothing is ok in this game, it's shit through and through.

Excuse for my retard spacing, but this thread desrves as much.

Is the a game like this that isn't MMO and is lighter on the RPG mechanics? (level up systems means you have to put in loads of effort before you're truly playing the game. Imagine people praising that a car takes 20 minutes to reach 60 mph, because that's what it's like to me)

Normal beat em ups don't have as many moves as DFO and I really like that you can input moves like it was a fighting game.

Also, grinding for gear. Got I hate this mechanic.

I played Memlands and thought the RNG guns were tolerable, since you can just reload the area and kill and open chests again for the good stuff.

But MMOs make you do that, plus make them rank up with their enchanters and forges and everything above a certain upgrade risks blowing up your equipment, so have fun running the same content again for another month to get back where you were. Don't like it? Buy a protection consumable, goy. Only $2!

1st: It's less on grinding but more on lucking out. The real grind begins when you start doing raids and those have also been alleviated a little a week ago.

2nd: DFO's reinforcing gear jewry is more lenient than most other mmos for all I know. A couple months go had a rework that made it so your weapon doesn't get destroyed when you attempt to reinforce up to +12, which is great enough for all content, even on endgame. There's protection tickets for sale (provided by whales or a general lootbox whose keys drop on dungeons if not mistaken) on AH even though they're pricey if you want to go even further beyond and even then there's some classes that don't need reinforcement at all (they use Refining instead to make weapons stronger but it's a different kind of hell, however it doesn't break weapons at all and has an upgrade cap). There's also pic related, but you don't want that unless you want to lose all your faith and money.

Because there is no other decent PC beat'em up, unfortunately.

I'd buy a DFO-like single player game at full price (could take or leave multiplayer content) if any of them had 50% of the characters/moves/stages and allowed full skill/gear/outfit customization.

The literal only thing that comes close is Dragon's Crown, which is not on PC, is extremely limited moveset and content-wise, and has almost no customization other than palette swaps. Either that or keep replaying tower of doom/mystara.
