You control not-clint eastwood that has a revolver, a knife, a watch. A nigger can tie up people with rope, throw dynamite (with actual psychics and bounces) and handle snakes. A doctor that can snipe people, gas multiple people by lobbing a bottle, heal your friends and create a decoy of himself. A gambler lady that has a pocket pistol, can stealthily kick people, attract men, blind people with the sunlight and throw cards, and there's also a mexican and a chink later in the game.
Every mission that isn't a tutorial is a big map with tons of things you can do, some missions have restrictions like don't get caught/alert guards, don't kill enemies, etc.

I heard the second allows you to rotate the map around and should be as good as the first one but I'm not sure as I haven't played the sequels, as with the third game it wasn't well-received.
The first game may be old in it's interface but it's a lot of fun, even the demo is it's own unique level. There's a new sequel being developed that's supposed to be the 'third' game and it's made by the same developers who made Shadow Tactics, my only gripe from the early gameplay videos I've seen is that it's not more similar to Desperados but more of an extension of Shadow Tactics with the Desperados name on it.

The presentation of Gunslinger is more pulp and arcade like, tongue in cheek. The original is an adventure, with very good atmosphere and story. Old west games usually are depressing but both are very action oriented, whereas RDR was lifestyle and critique oriented.

They never will. The Houser Brothers said numerous times in interviews that the development of RDR was well behind schedule and over-budget and the source code is a fucking mess that they don't want to touch. It was very closely optimized for their respective target hardwares architecture, the PowerPC, and was probably not very portable code. This time it's different because all consoles are x86-64 so they have little excuses.

Red Dead Revolver was originally being developed by Capcom. I imagine it would have been something of a spiritual successor to Gun.Smoke and surely would feature the level 1 music from the NES version.
Oh, and Gun.Smoke can count as a PC game since it can be played on an emulator. It's a Wild West Shmup, which is quite a novelty.

I really fucking wish this and CoJ gunslinger weren't so goddamn short, they're a blast to play and while CoJ technically has infinite replayability thanks to arcade and duel modes GUN is fucking barren after you do everything for 100%, which is a shame because you get a shotgun that shoots cannonballs and a armored horse that can't be killed, that and you get spawned in the literal asshole of the world so even if you wanna blow up some civilians you have to endure a 5 minute ride to the biggest town.

It's funny how much Cockstar didn't learn from GTA 4, RDR and Max Payne 3. GTAIV had complex car physics simulation, down to the shock absorbers and shit, RDR had the wounding system from the webm and in general the way people reacted to hits was great and was improved even more than it's GTA4 version. Then Max Payne 3 had actually working bulletproof vests and an even better ragdoll physics and animation system.
Then GTAV came out. You could shoot a guy in both legs, he'd get up holding his gut and hobbling away. Car physics were simpler than San Andreas. And enemies with a bulletproof vest just have 10 times more health than those without, so they can take multiple headshots.

Mainly that the accuracy drop from movement makes the game slower. I liked the notoriety system of the gamenight version. The new version has three different ways of handling weapon selection, preset loadouts, a point system where you get a set number of points, and a money system where you buy weapons each round. I like the money system but the other two just aren't fun because you mostly end up using the same stuff the whole game. The most active gametype is the 3 team free for all which I hate and it uses the point system which I also hate.

DeathMatch has changed, current DeathMatch lets you buy weapons. Crates instead of giving you a free weapon open a buy menu, each different for each crate. You can even buy a whiskey bottle to heal allies and the Vulcan pistol now, while it used to be a spawn only weapon. Money is obtained throughout the game automatically and kills give you some extra cash, in the case of DeathMatch. Also, a 5 shot hamer-less revolver has been added, gentleman is back after it being removed, a "thief" passive power-up that lets you take money away from players if you literally sucker-punch them, another one of these passive power-ups that lets you carry more weight and withstand the effects of alcohol easier, and there's this Spencer Carbine which is real fun to use. Also, now they added another "hand-style", which is "fanning shot" style, basically makes your fanning shots more accurate, but costs 2 stars instead of 1 like left handed and right handed, while ambidextrous has no cost. It's really fun actually, you should give it a try. It's wildly different, but it's real nice and it leads to really fucking hardcore and intense clutches.
