What games are worth 100% completing? Why do people do this anyway?
Only time I did that was in Pokemon when I was competing with my friends.
If I really like a game I understand experimenting with it and doing weird things but why bother with this artificial 100% thing?

Crash 3 with all the time trials is much harder to 100+%.

Here's someone who put in 300+ hours in a DS game just to get the highest Completion rank.
I tend to play few games but complete them in any regard possible.
I guess it started with playing RPGs and doing the usual like talking twice to every NPC. But then some NPCs changed their text when certain events happened, so I talked to them after every progress. And it all went into "just do everything that was programmed into the game in every way possible" very easily after that.
With Beat-em-ups for example, if there's a freeze-cam after kill, I usually try to get a different skill finisher every time. 100%ing games looks pale in comparison.
I guess what upsets me the most is that achievements in games don't add any additional value beyond "do what you would already do in the game, but 1000 times".
When in reality they should be more like special opposed challenges, that force you to stick to a specific, uncommon or otherwise game-specific way of playing.
Easy example: If a game has a non-lethal option that is always the worst choice, because you get less XP, currency or rating or whatever - Make a non-lethal only trophy.

I like to 100% when the game is fun and 100%'ing it unlocks actual gameplay stuff, like a secret level or an ending, an ability, etc. Especially when 100%'ing involves going through challenges that are harder than the normal game.

Pic 1 is a drawing of Samus with a silhouette of Metroid fighting some weird blob things, and pic 2 is cover art for the instruction manual of a video game. Neither one is a pic of a video game so saying pic 2 is casual is pretty obvious bait. Although I suppose glancing at a cover inside a jewel case on display on your shelf where the only reason it is on display is to give gamer cred to non existent friends is pretty casual. On topic, Xenogears was fun to 100%, there were some neat things to do, like playing through with all the gears in the battle arena, and some missable items, such as the rock paper scissors medal from the beginning of the game that you needed to trade later in Shevat.

Of course he means Metroid, that's no the issue. The issue is that he could be meaning just about any Metroid game, which is rather vague considering all the games that it covers and their differences. It barely designates anything then, may as well post a pic of a console altogether. It's strangely ambiguous and lacks conciseness, kind of like what someone with a short attention span would post, with no attention to detail. oh and to answer your question OP, the only game I can think of off the top of my head is risk of rain because 100 percenting it actually gets you the best items.
