Extreme body violence (anything giving full visuals of dismemberment, decapitation or head exploding, internal organs coming out, etc) has always been censored in japanese video games mostly due of CERO, unless it's Z-rated. But devs avoid this rating considering it means a Z-rated game cant be bought without a credit card so profits cant be made. I recall only a couple of japanese visual novels and obviously the western games (although in the latter case they still get censored, especially if they show any genitals).. This is also why Berserk Musou and Hokuto no Ken were toned down in violence due of catering the D rating, the highest one before Z. The original PS1 version of Biohazard/Resident Evil 3 wasnt censored in Japan (the second was tho), but the PSN release became censored to meet similar censorship effects with the European version.

Not overnight, but it always starts small. It's just enough to not cause a massive panic or riot among the populace. If noticed, it will get some traction, but because it's only small and insignificant (in combination of people believing that things won't get worse or as bad as it is now), said traction slows to a halt. Once things calm down or go unnoticed, they continue to censor, change, modify, and/or otherwise remove more content, either the same amount as before or possibly even more. Seeing as this process doesn't stop or affect the sale of games overall, other companies follow suit (unless they really fuck up and make a major change to a game like DOA6). Their reasons for this may vary (politics, business decisions, social groups, etc.), but the result is the same; over time, normalfags and apathetic gamers will accept the changes over time as normal (especially the young normalfags) and allow them to keep going.
It's only going to get worse with the (((Olympics))). It may even go into full swing by that time. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I've seen history repeat itself enough to assume the worst each time this shit happens.

The magazine also has information about Masayoshi Tanimura, who is one of the main characters of the game. Likewise but these revisions left me rather apprehensive. If it comes out mostly squeaky clean then fine but I'm not getting the game if it's getting chopped. Yeah, her voice actor Aya Hirano had this whole controversy where she fucked an entire band (Except for the bassist, of course) so in Yakuza 5 they recasted Hana's voice actor since Aya Hirano briefly retired from voice acting due to Otaku really hating her for awhile.
But apparently she was casted as a character in Ishin so maybe Hana will be untouched.
I can't imagine they can butcher Yakuza 5 can they? I never 100%ed it but I don't recall any vaguely offensive substories, and any characters they might have to recast are characters i'm not attached to anyways.

If they've been telling the truth in interviews, there won't be a Kiwami 3, 4, or 5. They're wrapping up with the remasters because they want to keep the PS4 as the definitive platform to experience the story of Kiryu. I assume after Judge Eyes and Shin Ryu Ga Gotoku they'll move on to PS5 titles exclusively.
