One of the best series of Point and Click adventure games, and one of the few ones that successfully blended the classic P&C formula with RPG mechanics both in solving puzzles(multiple routes depending on stats/class), but also combat so it's more than just a glorified walking simulator :^).
Pros
>each game is set in a unique landscape with different mythologies
>you pick from one of three classes there's a fourth secret class starting with the fourth game
>you can still learn magic, even as a warrior/theif if you have stats in it
>to train your stats you need to train them, kinda like in Elder Scrolls(you can only train stats that are over 0, if it's 0 you can't train it, at the start of the game each class has some stats at 0, and some over, so a warrior has 0 in magic, you are also given 100 points to distribute to your stats, but you can spend 50 of them to raise a 0 stat to 1, and while it seems like a steep price, it means you can grind it later in the game, theoretically by the end of the series you could have every stat over 0)
>your stats, spells and some equipment, carry over to the next game so while in the first game the maximum amount of strength was 100 and you could learn like 8 spells, by the fourth game you have 400 strength and know 30 spells
>there is a hunger meter, but all you have to do is go once per day to the tavern, get a nice description of the meal you are eating and enjoy the comfy atmosphere
>the combat ranges from passable(1 and 3) to interesting(4) to great, I can't believe more games haven't implemented this system(2)
>the first two games also have a remake with graphics matching the third game(an official one for the first one, and a fan one for the second one)
>the fourth game actually had a great story, while the others had a passable ones
Cons
<the third game is a bit boring, but you should play it to completion, to carry over your stats and equipment to the fourth one
<the fifth game is fucking shit, DON'T PLAY IT
