Old japanese anime style pre-Tezuka differs greatly from the the almost standardized style of anime today and that was already defined and stated by anons already. Could I point out that the KEY difference between a bank canceling someone's card versus a bakery refusing to bake a cake is that you're already using the damn bank, you have their card. That is it, there is nothing left to argue about. All companies that provide services at an expense can refuse to serve a customer as it is their legal right. What they cannot do is refuse a customer part-way through an agreement. That would result in the company being brought up on charges of theft and breach of contract.

I remember when I was younger wanting comics to be darker, more dystopian, less cookie cutter. and viewed through the right lens you *could* see this as the darkest timeline imaginable and they're glorifying the batshit criminals until a vengeful retribution comes and removes this scum from the earth.
