Kirby and Jiggs have simplistic designs - that's different from having retarded and lazy designs. Steve exists the way he is because Notch is a hack and can't design anything to save his life. Kirby was designed by actually competent artists who needed a compact and relatively simple character whose movements could be easily read on a tiny, colorless screen (he first appeared on a Game Boy platformer).

Most characters people want in DO have unique moveset ideas though. Isacc isn't generic swordsman #3435, Dixie has her own move set and could use the animal friends, Shantae at least has those transformations, and like hell if Mr. "I'm against a sword user right, he's getting the lead pipe" Kunio is gonna be just kicks and punches Meanwhile the only unique thing I've seen for Steve is the blocks but all they'd do is stop people/projectiles. There's characters that already do that. As for the ore projectile, Villager already does that with his tree.

If you get Speed Nuts, give them to Therion. Speed is absolute trash for everyone but him anyway. The rest you can freely hoard and decide when the time is right.
Cyrus is awesome, and most of the time his elements are enough. If they aren't, just wait for the shield to break. He can hit twice while not having to boost, has great damage and can take out trash enemies first turn, that's his strengths. He's killed the vast majority of bosses in my game, and he was the one who broke shields. As you play Therion, you should have a shit ton of SP healing items for him, and there's items he can get that heal his SP or increase his SP pool. Most of the time before it's all gone, you just level up anyway. There's also a passive that halves SP usage which Merchant has. You can also use Steal SP into Share SP (don't boost, make sure you will have 6 SP), and then Steal SP again for a full pool for Therion if you really don't want to spend Plums.

I’ve seen a lot of people support him solely because he’d cause shittons of salt if he got in. While that is true and it would definitely be funny, I don’t think salt is a genuine reason to support a character anymore. We’re at the point where ANY character that gets in will equal salt. It's a remake and most of what is not great about it is because Gaiden wasn't hot shit to begin with. Its aesthetics and presentation are about as good as Fire Emblem has ever had with the exception of its crit animations, which are decent (but the 3D games will never top the GBA games in that category).

I really don't like Brawl's opening. The music is fine though sometimes I think it tries a bit too hard to be "epic", but doesn't fit any the scenes in the montage, unlike 64 and Melee where the music fits the cinematics and goes along with it. Doesn't help that all the cutscenes were just from the story mode out of context, which makes them lose their flair.
64 and Melee's opening really felt like they were made just for those games openings, and the music felt like it was conposes specifically for that cinematic. The montage of Brawl is very clearly was strung together because after spending all that money on cinematics there's no way they were going to make yet another new cinematic just for the opening and the music makes it clear to me that Uematsu didn't use the montage as reference.

Brawl at least has a satisfying "blast" sound that really makes you feel like you just fucked someone up when it follows a smash attack or makes you feel beaten when enemies or bosses get the best of you, especially that wave. 4 has it to a lesser extent and I initially felt optimistic about a "Brawl, but better in every way with polished mechanics" from just little things like hearing the "newer, cleaner, shinnier" KO sound.
I really do love a lot of 4's presentation and confident feel of "next generation of SSB" as opposed to the more conclusive Brawl along with the opening, which is my favorite rivaling the first itself, so it's such a fucking shame how lackluster everything turned out, especially the blight of what replaced Adventure Mode for the sake of experimentation and just makes "4" look painfully gimmicky and messy.

I honestly think Master Chief would be more likely then Minecraft Steve for one reason. There is only one true prerequisite for a character to get into smash, and that is having a good soundtrack that the music team enjoys. I can't think of any Minecraft songs but can think of a few Halo songs off the top of my head.
