The Go-To Total Conversion mods for OFP are

FFUR was an asset replacement mod and SLX is an ai improvement mod, SLX by itself is good and there was really nothing special about FFUR but when you combine the fancy animations and assets of FFUR with the great firefights of SLX you get a keeper. Singleplayer only, but is most suited to spicing up singleplayer missions/campaigns.

It's an extended animation mod run by an autistic Frenchman. Assets are all bland but the animations are top-notch. It's an extension of GRAA3 mod which was a lightweight mod similar to FFUR but with no vehicle replacements. I can't remember if WW4 replaces assets, but I do know it added a whole heap of new camos that were all designed specifically to be toaster-friendly and multiplayer. (mostly to prevent the engine from shitting itself)

If you find a copy of this mod good for you, it added most of the features from the old ECP mods as well as 3D ironsights and some aspects of SLX mod. Not sure if it ran multiplayer as I never tested it.

Isn't a replacement mod, but it's a precursor mod for ACE mod, so expect similar autistic features that improve the base game immensely. Things like workable rucksacks, Tracers that look real fancy, Wounding system that's more fun-oriented than ACE2 or 3. Has tonnes and tonnes of missions available for singleplayer and multiplayer. It's the quintessential multiplayer coop mod king.

Vast array of coop missions, some bad, some good, some WW2. Comfy winter missions and iirc a singleplayer campaign. Aside from the setting and assets, it also added light gameplay features such as attaching satchel charges to vehicles and bleeding, but AI is for the most part vanilla, unlike subsequent mods I've listed.

way back in 2008 there was a good fella that collected all the WW2 assets ever made for the game and compiled them into one workable mod. The best features of Libmod were dragging wounded friendlies to cover (not all shots killed you, some would incapacitate you and you'd need an ally to heal you, SLX took this feature and made it a bit more fun, but isn't multiplayer like Libmod) digging/building fortifications (foxholes too, they were "vehicles" that you or AI could "get in") deployable MGs as well as movable AT guns (could be pushed with neat little animations, or towed by a vehicle) and tanks that had working armor (shots negated damage entirely if they didn't penetrate)

you idiots are probably trying to crank the draw distance to beyond 3k while also having the terrain detail on the highest setting. Dumb dumbs, the game is designed to be run on normal terrain detail and 3k view distance at the highest. Yes, they designed a game that quite literally cannot handle its own highest settings.

The double wammy of having all the old mods hosted on a now-dead site (Filefront) while also having Bohemia themselves change their forum layout/servers is what killed most of the modding for OFP.
