When a company offers less money than you can actually live on, and people still say yes Ill do that job, that suggests theres an oversupply of labour.

16 minutes in there is a wraith fight. Even though it's a specter, you can kill it with ordinary arrows, even if it does low damage. They way it moved made me think the developers were fans of The Witcher. I was thinking they were going for a more dark souls approach since they've got a stamina meter that seems to only appear in combat.

At 22:30-22:45 I was wondering what these 2 bars above health were and it finally showed that they are your hunger and hydration meters even though they call it food or drink instead. Between those 15 seconds even if you fill those bars, they deplete at least 1% (eyeballing it here) even if your doing a brisk run. Food depletes quicker than Drink which makes sense. Not sure if having 3 bars to manage will be anything other than an annoyance.

Minor gripe is that they do that circle bar to show how much progress it takes to pick up something. This is a modern game problem but I don't like it. They feel like mini loading screens to remind me how much time I'm wasting. They even have it for picking up a rock that last at least one second. Also the pantomime action just seems like lazy animation at this point. If you're going to make me waste my time, either just not do the animation and give me the item or make me feel immerse in the world by making me see a long drawn animation of me whittling a stick to use for an arrow, putting the arrowhead on top and eyeing to see if it is good enough to use.

I enjoy it because of the freedom and self-sufficiency it brings. The feeling of being able to hunt, cook, feed, and clothe myself based on NOTHING but by own efforts and machinations is comforting – compared to real life where I couldn't make a T-shirt from scratch to save my fucking life, and without globally spanning networks of bullshit I wouldn't be able to have any meat to eat after an 8 hour work day.

I just cannot fathom with they chose the most boring setting possible, the American Midwest, especially if they want to market the game worldwide instead of a small American niche.

If they wanted to stick with the New World they could have chosen something like the North Atlantic, the Brazilian Badlands or Central American Jungles.

28:25- guy retrieves hide of elk inside the elk and body fades away.

36:30 is where you'll see the guy fight the wild turkey coming down the stairs and leveling up to level 6.

44:45 is where he does a jumping plunge attack on a wild turkey.

46:15-46:20 some physics glitch where you jitter atop some rocks.

48:15 is the start of the fight with the Timber Wolf.

I thought my eyes were deceiving but it seems he was missing his shot at the wolf from the start even though it clearly shows the target reticles on him, and even when he was inching closer. I guess it was invincible before it got done with it's howling action. It seems when your using your bow, you deplete your Drink bar and when your looting something that takes a while like a animal hide, you use your Food bar. The bars are blinking so those must be the case.

Also after that fight you seem to bleed but you auto heal your health by depleting your Food bar. I guess you can own settlements for a certain time before anyone can take it back from you displayed by the hours in the corner that pop up. It has a no public access message when you go near one of those owned places. You can select where you'll revive by selecting a tomb at those places. You have blacksmithing, outfitting, engineering, alchemy and cooking available at camp but can't do it unless you have the necessary building or materials I think. If you have to craft something that isn't food, you do it at the settlement.

Other than the natural nature sounds, the music seems to only change when your attacked by an aggressive enemy. There are 4 bars for the Food and Drink bars and I'm not sure what they entail since I doubt the guy playing is going to test those out. At 10%, 20% and 2 35% marks, I'm guessing they'll have some affects on your stats if you go near critical. Doesn't seem like much since even a common item can fill a 35% bar to 1/2 of its bar length. Watching the video so far, it seems typical to me. Nothing really standing out at the moment. Just some questionable gameplay mechanics that I've interpreted from observation.

1:31:20 see giant bear not to far from you. Begin mining gold loudly in front of it and it doesn't get alerted. Found that amusing in an odd way.

1:34:05 drown from walking on riverside. You deplete drink from drowning. Drowning depletes your health immediately. Watch your body lay down for 10 seconds until you scream and explode and wait another 7 seconds to revive. It even says "You Died" like typical Dark Souls.

Nothing much interesting to report. You do got a trade skill which I'm assuming will help you with crafting without having to rely on sanctuaries buildings. The settlements are just the in-between areas you can takeover and use to craft as you go towards a castle, temple or cave area for a quest. Melee is typical mmo shin bashing combat. In melee combat you stumble if you use an attack with depleted stamina bar.

It was mentioned before but the pop-in is terrible. Not much draw distance, even with the use of fog in well-lit areas. That drowning death was funny in how quick in came.

Japanese as a society are actually just 'tolerant' of cheating IRL, if we're going to go out of the realm of porn. Most Japanese men, at least those career orientated, will choose not to confront their wife if they've been caught cheating. This is all according from what I've picked up from this video by the way. Though it should be noted it seems like the guy is conducting the interviews in a more liberal part of Japan.

Seems after death you can either pick the grave you selected before, the last campfire if it is still active or go random an appear in some sanctuary. From what I've seen fully depleted Food or Drink bar doesn't do anything. I'm guessing they didn't implement it yet. Combat damage seems to follow a certain consistent pattern. normal attacks have a consistent 146 (level 8 or 9) with melee weapons. Jumping melee attack adds 29 on top of that. If you have no stamina bar you get half the normal damage and you stumble a little. There are critical's but I'm not sure the amount it increases by. Maybe 25-50% the normal damage output. Fist seem very nerfed if you can only deal 10 damage to a wolf when you're level 9.

You have to use pickax on boulders, which I don't mind, but you can easily pick-up these rocks that should only be carried by 2 hands by a normal person in one second next to them which makes the disparity between the two feel weird. Those common food or water can heal up to 2 bars of Food or Drink bar at 30%. Overall, nothing too groundbreaking that I could see.

You know, with the hype behind superheroe movies, even though that may be dwindling, wouldn't it be profitable to make a superhero themed MMO? Just seems like a smart decision which is why Amazon didn't approve of it. The last major one I recall was City of Heroes and that's gone. A lot of the stuff I've complained about can easily be fixed, but I'm not sure how interesting a game this New World will be once it's fully released.
