I made the mistake of lurking some halfchan threads about DMC and it's even worse than you'd expect.
Let me just get this off my chest:

>The game's pallete appears to be entirely Grey/Red in some areas and Blue/Red in others depending on time of day thanks to Capcom's retarded "realistic" lighting engine. There is no defending this.
>Balrog looks like God Hand 2: the Weapon, and my penis could not be any more erect
>Nero's arm gimmicks look like they'll make him slightly less dull than DMC4, which is a good thing
Everything else looks like DMC4.5; eg. a direct upgrade, which is nice. Since it's basically copypasted gameplay with new weapons and shit-tier westaboo aesthetics it's certainly no GOAT contender like DMC3SE was, but DMC5 is shaping up to be one of the best games of the decade.
Part of be would want to nominate Bloodborne for that position (despite being an ARPG), but at the same time a few hundred hours was enough that I never want to look at that game again so much as play it so I guess that would be a disqualifier, but no other game came that close either in recent memory.
