It's shit anon. Tactil controls will fuck any action game you may want to play, so forget about Castlevania or Metroid. You can try shit like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, though.
So here:

Don't listen to Circle of the Moon fags. The game is shit. It's hard, but for the wrong reasons. It features restrictive controls in an exploration game. It tried to combine Classicvania with Metroidvania and failed. Harmony of Dissonance is rough around the edges but it's overall a better game with a lot more content.

Shining Soul 1 & 2 are good choices. SwordCraft Story are some of the best RPGs on the GBA, really
I would recommend Riviera: The Promised Land. GBA copy is pretty good but PSP copy got reworked CGs.
The avatar series of GBA games features decent sprite work and some simple puzzles.
There's Zone of Enders, Fist of Mars which is a decent tie in to the console series. Plays a bit like FE in moving units around a map.
Breath of Fire 1 & 2 are on GBA if you've never played them before, think the SNES has better translations however.

I spent the better part of my highschool days playing the GBA as my computer was a toaster and there was a long roster of games to go through.
The CT special forces games look a bit like metal slug
LOTR Two Towers and Return of the King are diablo clones, good to zone out to if you can stand the pixels.
The various Yu-Gi-Oh games are also on here if you're interested. I'd recommend Duel Academy as it follow the story of GX by allowing you into the school and Ultimate Masters 2006, as this was during GX and has a good selection of cards like expanded cyber dragons and elemental heroes before that whole card games on motocycles.
Zoids Legacy is another good one, you get zoids as a result of battle or buy them, fix em up, put a pilot and weapons on em and you have yourself a front line unit. Can fit six in a party and I'm not famalier with zoids lore but there are multiple characters from different periods that help you out.

I'm not too familiar on Demikids, think it's like pokemon in that you collect demons to do battle but I dunno but it's related to megami tensai?
Onimusha Tactics is like Tactics Orge but Onimusha, it's pretty good from memory.
CIMA is another RPG where you get stuck on a train that gets lost in a demension and you have to find your way home.
"In CIMA, you must take a number of NPC characters, each with their own special abilities, out of the dungeons the CIMA have created to feed on human hope. CIMA build their dungeons on this principle: Without an escape, Humans lose hope. Therefore, they take their time to appear not as powerful as they could. "

There's GX Academy and 2006 on GBA, Tag Force on PSP, Spirit Caller and 2007 on DS, Card Almanac which was an information thing, Tag Force 2 PSP, 2008 DS, Tag Force Evo PS2 and Tag Force 3 DS. 5D's got 2009.
I remember played Spirit Caller and 2007, that was when the DS emulator was going strong and I went through the Ace Attorney stuff. Again, reasons why you should grab 06 or 07 is the detailed card packs, being able to buy boosters or starter decks in game opponents who run Kuribohs or warriors and it's just a good simulation to actually playing against people online. Ban list is old but you can turn that off in some cases I think.

I like this, you should make the "go" logo look more 80s somehow though - there's websites that make logos like that and some minor editing in GIMP could cover up use of said sites
also, add "NDOORS Corporation" logo under Nexon's - as it's a largely unsuccessful subsidiary.
everyone knows Nexon because of MapleStory. although, they are also known for shady Nintendo-associated development. see: maplestory DS which is an actual game they never fully released that ended development under dubious circumstances
NDOORS - sounds like "indoors" which alludes to "behind doors" as in "behind closed doors"
think like a tinfoiler when crafting shit like that.
the 3D-esque design behind could be used to lead into some deepest lore tier shit too.
"Tetris GO!" was a new take on the classic Tetris formula, taking place on a cube rather than a grid. Added elements of Tempest to Tetris and was widely successful until the games were mysteriously pulled from shelves.
Korean developer Nexon quickly scrubbed all references from their subsidiary NDOORS Corporation's website. A leaked internal document from Nexon revealed massive layoffs at NDOORS due to use of a North Korean dialect in internal company e-mails, the contents of which were not disclosed by Nexon - even internally.

Broken Sword is actually on here, after playing this I played it again with the PC version and continued the series. 2 is a good continuation but 3 was 3D and didn't really work.

- Castlevania COTM
- Castlevania AoS
- Sonic Advance 3
- Advance Wars 2
- Golden Sun
- Fire Emblem
- DBZ Supersonic Warriors
- DBZ Legacy of Goku
- Advance Guardian Heroes
- Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (probably the best wrestling game on the platform)
- Megaman Zero Series
- Final Fight Guy (an okay port of Final Fight, but just
Maybe?
- King of Fighters EX 2 (Pretty solid but a little gimped KOF 2000 port. Some sounds are missing and the new OC characters have lack of frames)
- Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival (graphics are good but the MIDI soundtracks…arrg)
- Lady Sia (a good platformer, kinda)
- GT Advance series (a car sim? on my handheld?)
OP, since you're playing on a phone (like me) you should get a Wee controller. I use it with every game except king of fighters because doing pretzel moves by sliding your thumbs felt really good

One of the biggest issues with Sonic Battle is how story-heavy it is. You spend half of the game mashing A to get through whatever stupid premise they force on you. And a lot of the battles don't even earn you cards for Emerl, the robot you can customize through skills learned in gameplay. So a lot of the game feels like filler. And to earn the "best" skills for Emerl is just a grindfest in long run.

I've beaten it twice. You wait until the enemy gets close, then you mash B. Rinse and repeat until you get to the final boss, at which point you spam R until you win. Emerl sounds cool on paper until you realize that once you've grinded for Gamma's punch combo there's no incentive to ever touch the customize menu ever again, also there's dumb shit like custom color schemes costing resources that are hard capped way too low. Honestly the entire game is wasted potential.

Because it had to be fan-translated and the sequel we did get is neither well known or high demand (and thus the missing game not benefiting from such)? Not to say either are bad, but I figure those are factors compared to other fan-translated games on the system (Ao no Tengai being an admittedly similar example; aside from it, there's only two entries in English, a fighter that was brought overseas and a SFC side game that had to be fan-translated).

Not every fan-translated game sees bugfixes though (and bad/glitchy audio strikes me as a bad one), and some don't work right aside from the emulator the patch creators were testing with.

I don't know. Probably because the previous gameboys only had two and Nintendo's usually kind of slow to change shit up what should be basics too much, at least until the DS (four buttons, bottom screen, a mic, etc). I mean, shoulder buttons were new to the GBA compared to the prior Game Boy versions, weren't they? Or am I remembering wrong? Hell, it even took them until the SP just to try backlighting again after the Japan only Gameboy Lite, and even then the first SPs were only sidelit.
At least the two face button scheme worked well enough for the NES-to-GBA ports (and obviously GBA original game shaving been designed around it). In comparison more companies out to have held off on the SNES ports until the DS, between GBA having the lower amount of buttons, worse audio, and worse color output than the SNES. I'd hate to have seen Chrono Trigger have been sent to the GBA instead of the DS.

SD Gecko my man. Can use an Action Replay disc to launch GBI which will read your cart. These discs are still being sold and are about half the cost of what the secondary market would charge you for the official one. Plus, GBI is better than the GBA OS anyway.
I have an everdrive in my game boy player and shit is cash. The anon above has put you on the right track but there is something GCN specific. The memory card with an SD card slot that works for the Wii will work for the GCN–you just need the right shit to boot GBI with. This is software called Swiss.

in summary:
Get SD Gecko memory card adapter, usually these work for both Wii and GCN.
Get compatible SD card for it.
Get Action Replay disc.
Put Swiss and GBI on SD card, then put it in the Gecko.
Put the loaded SD Gecko card into your cube and put in the Action Replay disc. Power on.
Assuming you did the googling you will need to to make sure you set it up right, you will see the Action Replay menu, which will then open Swiss by default, from there you can select GBI and open it in one of several modes.
I did this like, two years ago and forgot the specifics, but that is the gist of it and you can do it. I am also slow so it took me like a day to do it once I got all the stuff together.

Need to also consider that while the DS started as "third pillar" its popularity quickly caused Nintendo to phase the GBA out with the DS being shifted into a role as a direct replacement. Had the DS not done as well as it did, the GBA might have been current longer and had longer popularity/more sales. Also proper backlighting/battery charging from the start, which I'd say also worked in the DS' favor in comparison.

That actually puts into perspective why Drill Dozer never was expanded upon or had any sequels and was quickly left behind since it didn't sell well due to the GBA not being the "in" system anymore. It still makes me wonder what could have been had the GBA been given a few more years of shelf-life, but what we got wasn't bad at all considering the GBA's great library of games.
