What games have fleshed out features revolving around the breeding and raising of children? Crusader Kings II as far as I am aware is the undisputed king of this as the stats of the mother and father both matter, choices made during the upbringing will last a lifetime, and there are even separate stages of education. In addition, the choices made can pretty drastically alter the result, and the result is vitally important when raising an heir. In addition to all this, the dynamics of raising your children also change depending on your succession type. If you have gavelkind for example and all your possessions will be split between your sons, you want as few children as possible, preferably one or two sons to ensure your legacy isn't weakened.
I've never played Fire Emblem or any of the series, but I have heard it involves your units having children who mix their traits. How deep is this? Is the game in general worth playing?
Aside from these two examples I can't really think of other examples of this. Are there any more?

Makes it seem like the developers are lazy? You can experiment and use a lot of different strats/approaches on the normal modes if that's your thing.
It's the opposite for me- there's a lot of thought needed to win when you have very little options for success. You're forced to distribute EXP evenly among team members, carefully select who goes with which "squad", and come up with a larger battle plan than just killing everything in sight since some classes need to move and fight efficiently over the map if you don't want to lose anyone. It's a lot more interesting like that.

The do prioritize capturing powerful Jedi as long as it is reasonably possible. Not exactly as breeding stock, but as potential allies. Jedi spend their lives suppressing emotions and passions. So losing that self-control can feel extremely liberating for them and make it difficult to start building up that control again.
This is why Sith tend to taunt and mock Jeid in battle, or why they torture them once they've captured them.
In the movies, both Vader and the Emperor are trying to recruit Luke in this manner. And in KotOR, Malak successfully recruits Bastila by torturing her.

It is not a lie. Forgive me if I remember incorrectly, but there are like 3 tiers of Sith. That is - The Sith Lord, the Sith Apprentice, and Sith underlings - if they can even be called Sith.
