He's immortal, he's absolutely flawless, he's never wrong, there's no conflict with him; every scene with him him is badly written and merely a vehicle for him to monologue about how you should worship him because he's so good. Even when he was a kid and got scolded by his mother for straying from his parents and giving them a worry, a pretty reasonable scolding, he gave her a lesson and made it seem as if she was the one in the wrong.

She created the Skyloft paradise, sealed Demise away to buy herself time, reincarnated herself generations later, as a cute girl that everyone liked, gave herself amnesia, and subconsciously molded Link to be her perfect soldier. One who could wield the Triforce, defeat Demise, and all because she foresaw her kidnapping and knew he'd do anything to save Zelda. She "used" him.

Coldsteel is way more of a gary stu than mythra. Everyone is like "oh poor jin, people were dicks to him" and then they were like wow since this guy decided not to murder the fuck out of Rex in the final confrontation, and instead decides to murder the fuck out the one person he has hated more than anything for 500 years, he was sure an awesome guy". So Sylvannis burned down teldrassil and killed a bunch of nightelves for absolutely no reason other than a demon said she wasn't cool enough to burn it down. Which prompted the alliance to storm the undercity, sylvannis in her infinite wisdom decided to gas her own troops again losing the battle. The horde of course continues to follow her in spite of constantly losing battles because she loves to gas her own troops.
This of course prompts Tyrande or whoever the NE leader is at this point to sac her own priestesses in order to ascend into an avatar of elune who instantly loses to nathanos because he.. was a decent archer in life?

It's not just that, some Sues are horrible because they are villains written as protagonists and we're expected to take their side.
The perfect example is Korra and Amon. Korra is selfish, has everything handed to her and the symbol of oppression who uses her power to silence those she disagrees with. Her goal is to obtain more power, which she is unable to do due to a personality flaw.
Amon before the retarded twist ending, was someone had suffered at the hands of people like Korra, had no powers and worked for everything he had. His goal is to free others like him from oppression and to avenge his dead family.
If you had no idea from who's perspective the story was being told. Who sounds like a hero and who sounds like a villain?

Mary Sue do not have to be liked, nor "shilled" to be classified as a Mary Sue. The term Mary Sue refers to a character who is newly introduced to an ongoing series and yet somehow completely dwarfs and defies the skill barriers and established characters despite lacking any experience, knowledge or training.
Samus Aran is NOT a Mary Sue, she is the protagonist of her series. Samus overcoming the collective cast of her franchise is THE narrative. The games are not fan fiction, they are the established canon. Samus defines the franchise, she does not supercede it.
Disliking a protagonist/character in a game is perfectly fine, disliking a character for their otherwise ridiculous traits are perfectly fine. But that does not make them Mary Sue.
