did you even know that game had its development time cut and they had to rush it out the door as fast as possible otherwise it would've been cancelled? The developers had to work unpaid trying to fix bugs and still couldn't fix them all. And later contributed to the unofficial patches. It's a miracle the game even released at all.
Lackluster eye textures doesn't compare at all to how the game didn't even work on release and had so many insane bugs that caused the game to be near impossible to finish.

Cortex Command. I think most of the work for the game was done by just one guy, but he was terribly slow and ineffectual at getting anywhere; modders have made better game modes years before he finished the game. Even then, he didn't do everything he wanted. I said he finished the game? No, it was the modders who did. He engaged some modders to finish his game, because he apparently was too bad to do it, even after ten years. I didn't say "hired" because, in the end, he didn't even pay these modders for their work! In the end Cortex Command isn't even much of a game, more like a game engine with some hastily cobbled together game on top of that.

I've enjoyed a ton of mental omega & twisted insurrection and there is a massive amount of content available to play but both mods suffer heavily from the building and unit designs. There is just so much going on in these designs and unlike vanilla RA2/TS units which all mostly look clean and simple if you get an army of these mod-only units I could barely tell what is going on.
