it's more of a new way to play 2 than a "replacement" like kiwami 1 feels. It's perfectly solid and shows how quickly they're touching up the new engine but it still feels like 2 should be played on its own first. Especially since they lost some songs that really made certain cutscenes in 2 miles better

>How was it?
I thought it was okay, the gameplay was decent and at least the bullets doesn't stop you completely which I had problems with in recent games. Hostesses are a huge step up from Kiwami, but it's a shame they won't reuse any of those girls in the remastered version of Y3. Though personally I found some of the parts extremely hammy though like Kaoru and Kiryu making out before the bomb detonates and the autotune rock song that played in those said parts doesn't help either.
>Was it a decent remake?
Never played the PS2 version, but comparing to the dogshit known as 6, it's an improvement.

they've doubled down on localization speed so 0,6 and the kiwamis shot out quick as a bastard and its understandable anyone would get burned out, especially since a run through of the game if you goof off a bit and do all sidequests can easily clock 60-80 hours. you might already know haruka is popular cuz she went the idolshit route in 5, in 6 she gets knocked up which ruined japs love of muh idol purity, but furthermore she got knocked up by a chink and that really chapped their asses
Storywise it has some faults but not enough to call the game bad, and I give it credit for doing a gutsy move like that and actually having characters point out in story that Kiryus protective ambitions can affect him negatively

The japs have 6 all wrong, so im willing to bet theyre wrong about FotNS too. Its odd that jap devs tend to have stellar taste, and make great design choices, whereas the jap audience seems almost as petty and casual as the western AAA audience.
6s only real downfall is the combat, which is understandable because the game was made from scratch in a prototype engine. The combat is about as basic as the first games, so you fall into a routine pretty easily, but is by no means bad lile the japs claim. It also adds alot of great new, but situatio al Heat actions, and the levelling system is a fantastic step up. Save for that, its really the standard Yakuza fare. Play it yourself and get your own feel for it, but me and my friends think it was pretty good.

The ending is interesting I wouldn't want to spoil it for you but I'm going to put it behind a spoiler tag with no fuck ups, read at your own risk
Kiryu beats sense into harukas baby daddy (whom didn't even know he was a chink, kinda like the karou thing in 2), then after beating the main bad guy, and barely surviving once again, he's presented with a situation in which he fakes his own death to protect the sunshine. The only person who knows the truth is Date and he begrudgingly keeps the lie. Kiryu penned one letter to Daigo before the final battle as a "will" of sorts telling him to uphold the tojo clan with the pillars of it (goro and taiga). Kiryu walks off into the sunset as Harukas child is taking his first steps

>Tanimura was a bland character with an awesome fighting style.
Indeed. Though his fighting style was really overpowered because you could parry attacks from any side, including melee weapon attacks, making his fights a bit too easy. The only character who could completely ignore his parry was the crooked detective Sugiuchi. He had a few attacks which would break your guard even if you were in parry stance, and when he was in heat mode a few of his string enders became guard breaks as well as a few of his attacks becoming unblockable and unparriable iirc, I remember if he got you with a charged yama tsuki from heat mode you could only evade it, otherwise you'd take the hit even if you were in parry stance. Even then Sugiuchi was really easy and if you just played normally chances are that you won't get hit at all anyway, I only experimented with him because I'm a moveset autist so I had to see what it was like.

This gen 3, 4 and 5 are just HD rereleases. 3 HD already came out in Nippon and it has some shit cut, that being the Tamashiro family crest getting butchered because it looked a bit too much like the Jap imperial flag (NEVER FORGET THE CUMFART WOMEN GOY!), the tranny substory being cut because it's too problematic and some hostesses being swapped with the shitty Kiwami ones because the originals' contracts ran out. Also one of the minigames that was cut in Western releases of the original 3, 4 and 5 which was a trivia game was also cut from the HD releases… for all regions.
Also there's the fag Kiryu was smoking on the cover but really, who the fuck cares about that?

That shit's actually really easy in K2, anon. Shocking, I know. The wast majority of her requests in K2 require either ordering a specific type of food or going to a store to buy something. If you get a minigame request which you don't want to do, you can just catch a cab and go to the other city and her request will be reset. Oh and she has requests in both cities btw. With my method I got to SS rank by just buying her food and trinkets.
Also, Memejima's moveset is the same as in Y0, for the heat move which takes out 3 guys you gotta have both heat bars filled since to do it it costs 2 bars.

In order to win you need to make a hand. A hand usually consists of 4 sets + 1 pair. A set can be 3 consecutive tiles or 3 of same tile.
Never steal, pon/kan/chi unless you know what hand you are going for. If you think you've got a proper had and game thinks so too, you can just declare riichi at this point gamee would just fast forward until you can ron to steal someone's else tile or tsumo. Tsumo gives more point IIRC. That's what I did, won easy/medium table at Kamurocho and Medium/Hard at sotenbori. Used the cheat item on tournaments.

The use of the Crazy Ken song blew my mind back when I first played it, for one I genuinely enjoy the song but the original scene always kinda makes me feel that cutscenes in the end, ended up far superior to all the modern attempts on cinematic storytelling. Since you can actually use techniques used in CINEMA to play the scene out, and you can just skip the scene if you're replaying and have seen it a few times over. Walky talkie segments really don't have shit on even the simplest cutscenes

So is the combat in these games shitty, or am I missing something fundamental? I'm on chapter 6 of Yakuza 0 and a lot of the enemy's attacks have nearly no startup making it infeasible to dodge on reaction, so I just try to stay out of their range and wait for an opening, but if I get in and punch them more than twice they often counter out of my combo and stunlock me, which I can't block or dodge out of. God forbid they knock me down, because then as soon as I stand up and before I can even move, they attack and combo me into another knock down.
Basically the startup and recovery on a lot of moves seem completely fucked, and at the moment (I haven't unlocked all the abilities) I don't seem to have any way to deal with it.

I don't know about that, I usually can dodge most enemies and bosses consistently when I'm focusing on it. It's another story when I'm trying to force a combo like a retard because I have health to spare, but dodging is in no way infeasible.

The real great thing about him is that losing not only isn't a big deal, it's actually beneficial. You'll get the experience fighting him as a player, and whatever cash he takes isn't lost - he keeps it until you beat him, so his cash prize only gets bigger and bigger over time.
That's actually the easiest way to get lodsofemone in the late game, just lose to Shakedown and watch your investments grow in his care.

Also, when he does his charge attach which has the same animation as Kiryu's advanced guard from Beast stance, all of the frames are seen as active frames (meaning you can get hit at any point during the move until it ends).
HOWEVER
Since all the frames in that attack are active frames, it means that you can do any counterattack, be it a tigerdrop, the demonfire counter or whatever else Kiryu and Memejima have from their stances, without even timing them, you just have to be close enough for the counter to proc.

Some enemies can be like that but for the most part, you can bait them to start attacking by repeatedly walking in and out of their range - this is a key strategy for landing counters or finding optimal openings to dash in.
As for missing something fundamental, I don't know what which pace you are playing but these games were designed for dawdling so use that free time to learn from the masters, accumulate money to buy skills etc. Characters start weak and with little options but can quickly become pretty strong. Incidentally, Kiryu has a unique item that lets him switch styles practically on the fly; you trade CP for it IIRC.
But you think that's bad, stay away from the Dragon Engine ones (6 and Kiwami 2) because those have a very noticeable issue with enemy AI, almost all of them only attack at point blank range making getting a Tiger Drop in them a goddamned nightmare.
>>15512150
I remember Shakedown being very resilient to firearms. It's been a while but IIRC my strats were:
Kiryu - Brawler, use running light-heavy to sneak a few hits after his run and for the most part use that style's counter when he's close, also keep the heat bar for added poise and defense
Majima - struggled until late when I could get the cooling towel item and some OP weapon (spears especially) and then use that to tear his ass
Anyway, I'm still on Ch13 tying all the loose ends. Finally done with the batting cages now there's a shitload of bouncer missions, unlock the last 2 tournaments in the Coliseum, raise Haruka's rank to SS for the bowling primer, do the last 3 optional CC missions and beat Amon. Maybe by next month, I can go back to just playing the game.
Also gotta say I didn't like fighting the Amons one bit - just heated their asses over and over. Alternatively, I could have tried to Tiger Drop them to death but in the end it just boils to doing one thing over and over, right?

Mahjong has a cheat item though, it gives you the strongest hand at the beginning which just makes you instantly take all of your opponents points. It used to be called Lucky Tile in the earlier games, but now it's the Peerless Tile. The games with dice also have cheat items, and Koi-Koi has the Lucky Hanafuda Card, but Koi-Koi isn't that hard honestly, I figured out that the easiest way to win is to go for the cards with ribbons as you only need 5 of them to make a winning hand.

Also, forgot to mention for Koi Koi, but the ribbons are an easy way to win because if you just get 3 blue or 3 red ribbons with writings on them ribbons, then you get a hand that's worth 6 points. There's 10 ribbons in the deck, 4 blank red ones, 3 red ones with writings on them and 3 blue ones, which is why it's easy to make a hand with ribbons, since for junk you need to gather 10 junk cards.

>And now I'm having one of those expanding cosmic brain moments. It's a interesting game but I can't quite wrap my head around it.
I actually know how to play the game and the way the AI is programmed it's actually easier in Yakuza if you barely know how to play the game and somebody that knows how to play the game (like me) just tells you to go for ribbons and never declare Koi after you get a hand, since it's low risk. Going for high-value combos is going to check the completion list faster of course, but that requires knowing how to play the game, which involves knowing how to read the board state, calculate probabilities, knowing optional rules involving cards like the Sake Cup, knowing which month (aka round) corresponds to each suit etc.
In short, it's not worth it because it takes much longer to learn how to play the game than to just cheese it by just collecting one of the three possible hands involving ribbons, those being collecting 5 of any type of ribbon (1 pt.), collecting all poetry ribbons, which are 3 red ribbons with writing on them (6 pts.) or collect all blue ribbons, which are 3 blue ribbons (6 pts.)
c52eab No.15514469
>>15514335
Oh and I forgot AGAIN, but I think you can turn on the two optional hands involving the Sake Cup, which are 2 card hands worth 5 points! Nothing to sneeze at. The picture I posted is the entire deck, each row is the 4 cards which correspond to a month, so as you might imagine there are 12 rows. The Sake Cup is the top card in the 9th row. Combining it with the Full Moon (top card of 8th row) gets you the Full Moon Viewing hand, while combining it with the Cherry Curtain (top card of 3rd row) you get the Cherry Blossom Viewing hand.

Yeah, it's easy if you remember that each month corresponds to a plant, but a visual aid can still help a lot since November is really kinda abstract. As you might imagine, you can only match a card from your hand with a card on the field of the same month, after that you draw a card, if the drawn card matches the month of a card already on the field, you pocket those too.
Also, I checked and the 2 Viewing hands are on by default and aren't actually optional at all. Also, the Poetry and Blue ribbon hands are worth 5, not 6 points. Apologies for remembering it wrong, I haven't played in years since the AI in Yakuza is a pushover and it's hard to find actual people to play with, especially as a gaijin who can't speak a lick of Japanese.
If you end up enjoying the game I suggest you look up more in-depth guides (it's not hard finding guides in English which go a bit into the depth of how to play the game) and apply it to your game, a lot of the skill in the game (assessing board state, calculating probability and such) comes from experience. After you are able to wombo combo the AI in Yakuza to death and you feel confident, then comes the tricky part, which is trying to find real people to play with.

It had crossed my mind but regarding OP's question about the localization, there's two things that stirred my sprinkles. One is a blatant mistranslation of a a name, the hue coliseum fighter Caetano da Silva whose last name was translated as "di Sciurva" and the other is Haruka dropping a Pulp Fiction reference Staminan Royale with cheese which was especially offensive after the team got up on a pulpit saying they have a "no memes/references" rule.
Some stray thoughts while I'm a it:
The completion list asks you to clear 20 bouncer missions but the list is about 4 times longer. If you plan on doing this, I suggest doing about 7-8 missions per chapter, space this shit out so it doesn't burn you out.
Objects that need two hands to use continue being the most OP thing in the Dragon Engine - huge damage and a massive hitbox that covers Kiryu's front and flanks; pick a bike and melt a mob of 6 in one swing.
A random nouveau riche enemy dropped a sword with shitty attack and 99 durability with a description saying the weapon unleashes its true power after breaking and repairing anew - it becomes the Muramasa with 96 attack.
The golf/baseball slo-mo swings are really good, almost worth the trouble you have to go through to earn them.
For a supposedly very well-behaved child, Haruka sure makes some very oddly specific requests. "Uncle Kaz, can we go to a whorehouse? I want to see how you give it to 'em."

Finally beat Amon. First attempt but a very ugly one that thanks to a crucial mistake. Like Yakuza 6, the fight really starts when he's down to his last 20-15% HP when he activates a shield and pulls two swords. The start is fairly simple, he uses the sword move set with somewhat easy to read moves and one Tiger Drop will shave off one full bar. The Amon nuance (this goes to all four) is that they take diminishing returns to a whole new level - if you use a Heat action on them, the next of the same type will seem to do zero damage (maybe does 1 point) and my mistake was using them before the last phase so I had to Tiger Drop him his Dark Souls 1 poise ass to death.
That said, I can't get mad because the music is just amazing. Easily the best track in the game and one of my overall favorites though Yakuza 6's rendition of Fiercest Warrior is my favorite.
And a extra to anyone that plans on playing the game or has just started - don't get hung up on stat points, they'll come to you by just playing the game. I did a bit of grinding and now feel like a complete idiot with 6000+ points on everything with just three skills to earn.

These two things done, the Coliseum becomes a lot more interesting with the new wrestlers and the Amon brothers joining the opponent roster. Almost done with the side stuff in Kiwami 2. How in the bloody hell does Haruka's trust go beyond SSS rank? Not even Dante could pull that shit off. Just missing three things from the list - Virtual-On (has to be played in Sotenbori so I can't go for easy mode), koi-koi (might attempt) and poker.
Meanwhile, noticed something interesting - I happened upon a second untransformed Muramasa so I went around to break it but I can't and I realized it's because of the 10 million yen weapon mastery scroll I got from Kamiyama after beating Amon - what this thing does is reset durability every time you put the weapon so you basically have a minorly inconvenienced unbreakable weapon. Anyway, DON'T learn the skill until you get the Muramasa. That sword has been a lifesaver through the last bouncer missions, the last 9 starring our aviator-loving friends. Also, you can earn a armor that blocks gun fire though you have to face it - might not mean much in crowds but turns Jiro into an absolute joke.

It's criminally smaller in scale than the other games, but there really is an effort put into what is there. The bar especially feels special. Even the random encounters are much less of a chore when you realize the running attack is a fucking bulldozer more effective than any multi-target heat action. Also chapter 12's boss fight was really unique.

I went in somewhat apprehensive because of all the criticism, especially all the talk about the story and characters but in the end, enjoyed it a lot with its story and characters being some of my favorites in the series. Felt like a much more grounded Yakuza 3. What it suffers is from a severe lack of content.
I'd goy for a special edition if it had the rest of the fluff content, combat on par with Kiwami 2 Judge Eyes (I want style switch now), full Kamurocho, some extra eateries and play spots in Onomichi like old school fishing, revamp some play spots particularly the cat café that could use actual mini-games once it's running, add different encounter types like in Yakuza 5 (squatting gangs, unmarked enemies you bump you, breaking arguments etc.) and ideally make them truly random which would be a big step forward for the series as these things always have preset spots and another thing where the Dragon Engine games need improvement is having people inside places and if they really want to kick it up a notch, place food on tables maybe even have a eating animation for NPCs.
For the main campaign, I'd only ask a change to the finale; set it on board the boat. Would be cool if Koshimizu and Matsunaga had a little more screen time but it's not crucial.

She at least tried to do the right thing running from media attention to spare Morning Glory, but her fuckups are more sticky than Kiryu taking the blame for Nishiki's murder. She has sex with several dudes while she's in hiding. That's hardly Kiryu's fault, and out of all the boys wooing her, at least Yuta had no idea he was a chink.

Remember what I taught you, anon. 12 suits, 4 cards per suit, only cards of the same suit can be matched. Go for ribbons and the two sake cup hands I told you about, if you don't think you'll be able to, look up a list of hands and have it for reference, but going for junk (min. 10 of the plain cards) should be the lowest risk option. NEVER koi, as a beginner you'll most likely only get fucked. If you have to put cards on the field, look at what your opponent has, that's why it's important to have a list of hands for reference. For example if you see your opponent having the boar, deer, and/or butterfly, it's a shit idea to discard one of those three since you risk giving him a good hand worth 5 points.

Besides the slimy Nu Yawk jew MC, I don't like how the series keeps blue balling me with its cast. Sometimes they really knock the ball out of the park with its characters and you're left wanting more but nope, then comes another game and has that again and then you get shit like Yakuza 0 with a cast so good you want a game for every one of them. Memejima, Prisonjima and Akiyama are the obvious ones but there's also Goda, densetsu gokudou Jesus Kazama and his apostle Kashiwagi, Nishiki (for the longest time I though he was gonna be playable in Kiwami) etc.

Meanwhile, after raging like a motherfucker, I finally did Haruka's Virtual-On request. Pulled it off with the girlbot because she's got a sort of hyper mode when down to 40% HP or something. The game's kinda fun and I legit learned something but the arcade stages are preset and the difficulty spike once you get to that fat fuck in the 3rd match is absurd. Fuck that asshole and fuck that stupid ball that chases you through the whole area at whatever speed and for how long it feels like.
Also because I was close to getting the What a Player trophy, I did Haruka's poker request. Actually learned how to play Texas Hold 'em and hell! even had some fun. So all that's left for her list is Koi-koi.
Also also, clearing the last bouncer mission on Normal nets you the War God Talisman which fills the Heat bar automatically. This coupled with Extreme Heat Mode makes you almost unkillable, tried it on the Hard mode version for shits and giggles and put down two Amons plus a gazillion chinpiras with 1HP.

I told you! After you play a card, you go into the "draw" phase where you draw a card from the deck and place it on the field. However, if there's already a card of the same suit on the field, you match and get both the drawn card and the card on the field. At first it's more or less pure luck (calculating probabilities still helps though), but at later stages of a round it's more and more about probability.

Finished the Memejima campaign and I'm left thinking if outside the bittersweet closure with Makoto this was something worth adding. Majima feels extremely gimped next to Kiryu or even his own Mad Dog incarnation from Zero, enemy encounters are pre-set and limited, the bosses that are barely worth that denomination are both half-assed Jingus, DIO is just a much less interesting Nintendo Uncle and while trying to make the money for the Kiryu presents I was left with around 1000 yen and still had to sell two thirds of my inventory (plus the plates you get from beating street bosses and the final 1 million reward from Amon) meaning that if you plan on doing that, forget about binging on mini-games.
Feels like just a very lengthy cutscene or a small playable portion worked into the main campaign would have sufficed.
Also, as with a lot of other characters, I could swear Makoto's model is still the same.

I could go on an autistic tirade about muh lorerape and muh Kenshiro would NEVER work as a bartender or whatever, but if you don't care about that, it gets too easy to fight groups if you have the two aerial moves from Burst mode and after you unlock perfect channeling, the latter of which is story dependent, but you get it really soon, after leaving Cassandra in the beginning of Ch. 5. Now, the reason why this works is because perfect channeling instakills any goon and they leave behind "goodies", depending on the deathcry. Most of the time it charges up your 7 stars meter. If you do a just frame perfect channel (you gotta do it JUST before the channeling ends), you get your meter charged up instantly.

I wrote a novel with kind of a complicated premise, but all you need to know in this context is that the heroine is the youngest daughter of an exceedingly wealthy and powerful Florentine family
We're talking they're secretely hiring 20% of the population to act as spies and bodyguards
Since the novel is from the perspective of the girl, this black ops force is an ally, but I did imagine a Yakuza game wherein the protagonists' family would in fact be the villains, and Italian Kiryu would beat ethics into them.
Also Naples is fucking shit

Sounds like RNGesus is screwing you hard on Blackjack but we all have those moments like getting a 20 on double down and the fuckin' dealer ties or 21s because fuck you that's why.
Poker on the other hand, it's important to learn the hands and assess the situation, normally if after the first round you got nothing to work with or there are odds another player will get a higher pair, just fold.

And finally finished it with 96h clocked and everything but mahjong done. The final part up until the boss gauntlet got me wondering just how much of a stink people made about there being no weapons in Yakuza 6 because there's so many of them here, it feels like a very sincere apology. That said, they didn't learn from their mistakes in Kiwami 1 and the supposed ultimate challenge is again preceded by a stupidly frustrating fight that will feel harder for all the wrong reasons and, if anything, it's worse in Kiwami 2 because they do it twice - knifeboots before Ryuuji and a competitive underwater shogi tournament champion before Ryuuji rematch.
Anyway, have to confess I'm not too crazy about jumping immediately in for NG+ though I could power through it now instead of taking one freakin' week in Ch13 because Haruka gave me the "no loose ends" spiel which isn't true, you'll get plenty of opportunities later on. I hope some day the Dragon Engine games can combine the combat options of the Kiwami engine with the amount of content 5 got.
Bit of a random note but when the game was announced I wasn't a fan of the idea of changing some characters but having played through Kiwami 2 and looking back at the original, I have to say it was actually a very good idea - OG Kawara looks like Solomon Grundy, Takashima was too young looking for his status and the new Kurahashi just looks really freaky.

Does the combat in FotNS get any better? It seems like you need to use finishers non-stop to ramp up your 7 star guage faster, so half the combat is just rewatching the same special moves till you can go into overdrive mode.
The specials don't seem to have consiatent activation like a lot of heat moves in the Yakuza games did, at least so far as I understand.
34e0ca No.15548616
>>15548570
When you get the ability to do perfect channeling (should be pretty quick, I don't remember exactly but it's either during Chapter 4 or at the very beginning of Chapter 5) the gauge builds up faster because enemies leave behind energy balls that you can pick up that charges it up, if you do a standard perfect channel it fills up one star, if you do a just frame channeling it fills it up completely. The exceptions are fat enemies who leave behind the deathcry weapon and the big enemies who leave behind health. Against bosses though, you need to fill it up the old fashioned way.
The activation is consistent, it depends on the combo string you used before hitting the pressure point. For example to get Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken it's either 5x light attack, 4x light attack+strong attack ender, or if you hit their pressure point while they're in the air. Go to abilities and hit triangle and then go to secret techniques, it'll show you which string you have to use to get each one.
Against giant enemies you'll always do the Ganzan Ryozan Ha regardless of string. To do the two other techniques against them (one of them you have to unlock) you have to unlock and use various stages of the supercharged channeling strike (bottom skills in the Skill tree). Small enemies don't have a technique you can use against them except for the counter technique you can unlock.
Also just a heads up, you have to do 2 playthroughs to be able to fully level yourself, because the only way to get golden orbs is through beating chapters and there's 20 skills that require it while you can only get 10 from one playthrough.

Targa has a kick that I simply just can't evade, it's like a full-circular move in VF and Rei evades like a motherfucker and none of his attacks or strings leave him close to you when you evade to his side. Thankfully, coliseum Targa has low health even when he's max power, but coliseum Rei is still a bitch to beat.

Had to be really good. I'm all for the waifu shit but I prefer that Yakuza stay out of it, the series' always been about unapologetic manly men doing unapologetic manly shit and I hope it stays that way. Besides, with the PC versions, mods can do that now.

That's what makes me sad. I want a Majima+Saejima adventures. Especially with Saejima.
Or make a character creator and make an original yakuza story.
Also, I mostly want to see Haruka being able to defend herself, but maybe I just liked how Haruka talked in the Yakuza Online trailer.

After the Ryuji game, my ideal Yakuza game would be with Saejima and Akiyama with the Zero/Kiwami combat system but unlike Kiryu and Majima that have a style to fit every archetype, I'd like the multiple styles for Saejima and Akiyama to stay within their archetype so Saejima would be all about brutalizing everything into utter submission and Akiyama stay the speedy, stylish type.
Something I'd love to see, and while the idea came about when entertaining my autism about a Ryuji game it would be perfect for Saejima, would be a style focused on grab chains that branch off depending on the inputs so after choke slamming a nigger you could choose to follow with a giant swing or scrap his mug on the ground and then you could add environmental options like pick the guy off the ground and toss him against wall to prep a grab that uses it or a Heat Action etc. Could also have Heat Actions that are exclusive as chain finishers.

Bump with some new Judge Eyes / Project Judge footage, the actual footage is between 29:50-46:40. It's mostly a quick show of Ch1 but there's a glimpse of some things like the skill menu which is a idea notepad like Tanimura's revelations and there's a hint of a room customization feature. From the combat, it mostly shows the wall jump moves.
Combat looks pretty good and two styles is a big step for the Dragon Engine but I'm still weary about the detective portions of the game because tailing missions can be a bore at best and annoying trial and error at worst and then there's the identification portion which runs the risk of of being "spot the well done NPC model" unless they up they real up the graphics quality.

I keep trying to get into Y0, but I can never make it past the tutorial fight with the Plaid Lads- the combat just feels so fucking awful.

>too many games = burnt out on the series
Before Kiwami hit the scene I did an emulated play-through of the first two games for PS2. I loved them and realized I was missing out on a great series. But then I bought Zero and picked up Kiwami just to support the series and found myself burned out halfway through Zero. The remakes of the games, while technically the superior versions, somehow lose its charm.
I plan to eventually pay through the rest of the Yakuza games but don't have enough free time to get around to them all. Especially with games like Xenogears, Dragon Quest 10, and XC2 Torna DLC, on my currently-playing backlog. Too many games, not enough time in the day. I honestly sometimes don't understand how some anons, even if they are unemployed, have the time to play so many games.
thankfully the garbage demo of Fist of the Northstar elevated my desire to ever play it

To those who got or are getting FotNS go grab the free Kiryu skin DLC while it's available, I think it's gonna be up for a week or something. Also, get the Jagi theme.

I'm a decent enough goy as it is, but I'm not paying for the same game twice. I'll just be a bit more patient and play Kiwami 2 in the meantime.

My sympathies anon. I've had the exact same problem and I'll tell you right off the bat it's going to get worse. IIRC it has to do with a rubber that swells and touches the internal eject trigger, a pretty glaring design flaw.
I did what's shown in this video (essentially, you'll deactivate the manual eject) and I can vouch for its efficiency. The other proposed solutions - let the console cool down or tight a specific screw that's interconnected to the eject button - are temporary and won't fix it.

Dunno if making a EU account would them allow you to use it for your main account but this is probably not worth it. Heck, I'm sure at some point I'll go back to my swimsuit Nitocris wallpaper.
Anywho, after two weeks and about 4 pilgrimages to the mall with no store even knowing if they're getting the game, got fed up and looked up other stores and had the damn thing mailed. Store had it in stock since launch day and a little cheaper to boot. It was the original stock so I got a day 1 version, it's just a couple stickers and talisman DLC but the more's the merrier. The one thing I wanted the most for this game was the reversible cover which is pretty nice, they had the good taste of coloring the PS4 strip black so it matches the illustration though the heavy metal band logo still sucks.
And that's all the vidya I'm getting this year. RGG Studios were the only ones to see the color of my shekels this year. Next year I'm only seeing Catherine FB and Sekiro as possible buys but the way Sony has been acting, that's been kinda spoiled. But before that, gotta show some niggers that Hokuto Shinken wa muteki da.
