I play destiny because I'm in a clan with very old ties, and this is the MMO of choice for our group.

The reason we chose it was because of the setting as there are no other fantasy settings that tackle futuristic technology contrasted with magic outside of Warhammer 40k. Basically we are huge lore nerds, and enjoy shooters. So this series fit our niche.

I think Destiny is a game that is actually given a fairly accurate rep by most critics. Bungie bungles the game a lot and the first two DLC's always seem to be Duck-tape DLCs not worth their money. The folowing DLC's (Taken King for D1 and Foresaken for D2) have made good strides, and fixed most of the games shortcomings at launch. But these short comings shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I don't think Destiny is a game for everyone and I'm not here to shill. I do have fun with it and am actually curious to see if anyone plays it.

Absolutely fucking 0. Destiny is the most embarrassing excuse for narrative delivery I have ever seen in a AAA video game no joke, which normally wouldn't be a problem but the basic, fundamental structure of its gameplay is designed around delivering the games plot. Its literally Cutscene < Grind < Cutscene < Grind so you're just left with a shallow empty husk of what could be an actual game. Its a real shame this thread could've been talking about how and why Destiny failed and it would've been a lot more interesting.

What does Destiny have compared to Warframe other than multiple price tags and loot crates? It looks like it has PvP that isn't as shitty as Warframe's but isn't better than even the worst dedicated PVP games like Lawbreakers. And the audience is the most normal of normalfags playing with gamepads.
