They completely fucked up balance in the opposite direction from vanilla (enemies die too quickly instead of too slowly), which isn't such a bad thing since it allows you to rush faster through the poorly designed dungeons and the boring enemies.
None of the games offer a good challenge in any case.
In any case, none of that shit completely breaks the game, unlike more serious bugs such as "fast travelling to this location after that quest is completed will softlock the game": the second kind of bug is less common in Skyrim, and they most happen outside main quest lines so you can't cuck yourself out of stuff so easily (can still fuck up the thieves guild one really hard)
