Sleepings Dogs is one of the games where the first one sets good groundwork, and the sequels tweak it all for the better. Problem being, no sequels. But the gameplay IS solid, despite what most are saying in the thread. To put things succinctly;
Combat is bamham but all the attacks are martial arts + street fighting.
Driving is simple and straightforward (and my personal favorite driving in any game).
Shooting is serviceable at best, and can be helpful, but is not how the game is meant to be played (you have a gun for maybe 15% of the game), tho in some instances you can disarm and pocket an enemys gun.
Main plot is paced pretty well up until the end, which feels rather abrupt. You can tell the game was supposed to be longer.
Mosy side activities are a lot of the same, so you have to enjoy the games core mechanics and gameplay to feel like theyre worth doing.
There are also dates you can go on with girls you can find, but only a couple times for each, and you never hear from em again (also something you can tell was meant to be more fleshed out).
Main character is fucking great, despite being undercover hes a no bullshit guy and loves to fuck people up.
Lastly, "a man without a pork bun is never a whole man".
