How could they fuck up so bad a remaster of two games that weren't even too outdated in the first place and there wasn't too much to change?
>To this day lots of people on Steam forums complaining about frequent random CTDs that didn't occur in the originals, even after many updates that were supposed to fix the problem
>Many new gameplay bugs that didn't exist in the originals. I've run into a bug where sometimes, seemingly at random I'm unable to hack turrets as the hack prompt doesn't show up even after stunning them with electricity. I don't remember ever encountering this bug in the originals
At least I never had any CTDs on my pirated copies. But it doesn't even look better than the originals:
>Many areas that had dynamic lighting in the originals were replaced by baked lighting
>The whole game has a foggy and washed out look / filter, rather than the vibrant colors and high-contrast lighting in the originals
They even fucked up the sound:
>Voices of enemies far away from you sound as loud as enemies right next to you (hadn't even noticed that until a guy pointed it out on a Steam review)
>Also, sometimes when playing tapes the narrators will repeat the same phrase up to 3 or 4 times
This is more like a demaster than a remaster. They should've just released an update for the PC originals bringing better current hardware and Windows version support, and the nice quality of life features from the remaster such as better widescreen resolution support and FOV slider.
Also, shit remasters general if you guys feel like it, I guess.
