How could they fuck up so bad a remaster of two games that weren't even too outdated in the first place and there wasn't too much to change?

>To this day lots of people on Steam forums complaining about frequent random CTDs that didn't occur in the originals, even after many updates that were supposed to fix the problem

>Many new gameplay bugs that didn't exist in the originals. I've run into a bug where sometimes, seemingly at random I'm unable to hack turrets as the hack prompt doesn't show up even after stunning them with electricity. I don't remember ever encountering this bug in the originals

At least I never had any CTDs on my pirated copies. But it doesn't even look better than the originals:

>Many areas that had dynamic lighting in the originals were replaced by baked lighting

>The whole game has a foggy and washed out look / filter, rather than the vibrant colors and high-contrast lighting in the originals

They even fucked up the sound:

>Voices of enemies far away from you sound as loud as enemies right next to you (hadn't even noticed that until a guy pointed it out on a Steam review)

>Also, sometimes when playing tapes the narrators will repeat the same phrase up to 3 or 4 times

This is more like a demaster than a remaster. They should've just released an update for the PC originals bringing better current hardware and Windows version support, and the nice quality of life features from the remaster such as better widescreen resolution support and FOV slider.

Also, shit remasters general if you guys feel like it, I guess.

This was made solely to bump up the price of the game for retards too lazy to look for the original.

Have you tried to play the original game recently? I couldn't even get it to run stable for two seconds before crashing in Windows 10. Even though the remaster is pretty pathetic It still ran without any hitches for me unlike the first one.

>They even fucked up the sound

M8 the sound was already fucked up in the original. The original games sound will just break constantly and even more so if you are trying to run it in surround sound, certain sound effects won't be present at all. The mouse acceleration in the original was also terrible and the physics being locked to 30 fps gets annoying after awhile. Sure the remaster was pretty dogshit but it's almost the only way to play Bioshock now considering how broken the original is to play on modern systems. Bioshock 2 is a different story though cause it can still run decently with only 1 or two fixes needed.

I know, but in this case it would be better to just update the originals like I suggested and call it a remaster. I'm sure most of these improvements could be implemented in 1 or 2 workdays by a single unpaid pajeet intern as they are things that can already be tweaked by editing config files.

>using Windows 10

My original Bioshock never crashed on 8.1, strange how what I often see are people complaining that the Remastered version crashes a lot on Windows 10. I also never had problems with sound, granted I can't vouch for the sound balancing issues unless I fire it up and play a bit to compare, but I'm sure the tape recorder sound glitches never happened for me in the original.

As for the mouse controls, I feel that they were always shit and are still shit in the Remaster.

>makes a snarky comment about Windows 10

>using an aborted fetus of an OS that is Windows 8

The original port has the exact same sound mixing issues as the remaster. I never experienced the tape recorder glitches you

are referring to so I cannot comment on that. The remaster when it first released still had mouse acceleration but they were quick to release a patch afterwards that completely removes it, I never had much of a problem with the controls after the patch.
