There was a request in the last drawthread asking for certain characters on/around a couch, with shovel knight's helmet below kunio's foot. When I went to post my linework to see what the requestor thought, it had been deleted. Posting in this one to see if he comes back.

Maybe you should read the manga in question. Fran herself has only the best intentions, most of the time. The problem is that she doesn't understand psychology very well, and has a tendency to underestimate just how bad the side effects of her procedures will be, and also has a tendency to give people "more than they ask for", which tends to backfire. Either that, or she's just a complete sociopath who likes toying with people and puts up a very good facade. Either way, almost all her subjects end up basically in horror story mode. At least, the ones in the manga do. There are probably tons of "off camera" cases where she just performs some routine surgery and the patient turns out just fine. Though if it fails, she'll probably harvest their organs. Before mortis kicks in so that the organs are in good condition. So yeah, very practical. She's a great character to be sure but IMO she's kind of the opposite of waifu material; unpredictable, inhuman, and probably a sociopath.

I usually thumbnail before doing a drawing, then dive right into lineart. Haven't done base sketches in quite some time (although if i did that probably would prevent fucked faces but hey, I'm the retard). Then I color, usually just having different layers for skin, hair, and clothes just for ease of coloring. The first layer looks kind of messed up because for most art that im working on for a long period of time I start to do everything on one layer. I like to traditionally paint and draw a lot alongside digital art, so i think thats why I usually disregard layers.

Hello I am critic from some thread over where you posted the unshaded version.
The shading looks natural enough, and it fixed the issue with the hair looking rather flat; however I noticed something that's bothering me.
The sun, or an independent light-source is clearly in the background, but her shading seems to be somewhere above the "observer" or even right above her.
See if you can't work with that in mind, it'll add a lot more depth.

I am aware of the light source on her body not accurately representing the position of the sun, I previously had the sun offscreen to go along with the light reflection on her body, but I'm conflicted because I like the way it looks in the background. Also this pic was previously not going to have a background.
I'm not sure what to do there. The most obvious thing to do would be to remove the sun from the pic so that it'd be offscreen, but then I'd also have to change the reflection in the water.

I like this style of drawfagging. You can't just post your (1) and forget, you need to actively camp and post what you want. This mitigates the damage from commissionposters.

Fire can be a bitch to draw, especially in your art style. Try to remember it tends to go upwards in single pillars that gradually shrink and bend, it doesn't branch off like lightning does.
