Bullshit raid attunements cater to no one, ESPECIALLY hardcore raiders. Nothing's worse as a raiding guild than to need to attune a new recruit through some bullshit process that's far beneath you in terms of difficulty. The argument I always use when this discussion comes up is WoW's TBC attunement system, especially for the Black Temple and Hyjal raids. Imagine this: as a raiding guild, you're always trying to recruit good players to combat your raiders burning out, changing specs/classes, getting IRL'd, etc. You've been farming the current tier of content (BT/Hyjal, aka T6) for over 6 months. Everyone in your guild has almost all the gear they need from T6 content and you have the fights down to perfection. You log on tuesday and clear the two raids in less than 4 hours and hope the next tier comes out. But wait! there's a new recruit so this tuesday we're heading out to do the tier 5 content that we stopped doing fucking months ago. We're doing bosses that we overgear so much that they can't even be considered a speed bump. So instead of being able to raid log, the entirety of your guild needs to drag its ass and redo boring ass content that you had mastered ages ago. Nobody wants to be there. Nobody's paying attention. Shit sucks. Everybody hates it. Nobody's having fun. That's what attunements are.

In any case, the 5 man dungeons were amazing. The difficulty was just right. Which meant that casuals cried their eyes out because they couldn't just waltz in there, destroy everything without any effort, and come out of it showered in loot. Doing both the dungeons during leveling and on hard mode was a blast. Makes me wish more MMOs had actual mechanically difficult 5 man content.

Disorganized pugs that fail after a few wipes shouldn't be able to clear dungeons. It should take a bare minimum or effort and organization to beat a dungeon. Failure needs to be a strong possibility if your group doesn't have its shit together. I pugged all of the leveling dungeons. Wiped a bunch, persevered, improved, won out, and everyone loved the experience.

Every server and guild did it differently. I know some servers had different guilds "merge" raiders together for T5 farming. Some had mostly fixed raids composed of mains/alts/good pugs. Some cried in agony and did the whole fucking T5+6 every week with the main raid.

Everyone that was considering buying some to invest in it suddendly has a precedent where they can be robbed of their investment so might as well not risk it, while everyone else wants to sell off something that they could lose at any time.

Even if the government recognized the mistake, returned stolen property and promised to never do it again, it'd take several years, decades even, with no meddling from the government for anyone to trust investing there at all.

Except they had to speak with their wallets, not by discussing things in the forum. They aren't so much being heard as the company is putting money ahead of SJW pandering. The only thing they said is "we care more about money than having smaller tits", but nothing tells you that they actually changed their mentality and that they won't do something similar in the future as long as they believe it won't affect sales.

It's the problem with changing someone's opinion by force. When they change attitude, was it because they changed opinion or because they folded in to whatever pressure you were using? Because the second one means they may still try something in the future, but you have no way to know which happened.

And this is why civil discourse is so important, because if someone is convinced by words, not threats, it's 100% genuine or at least far more than by force.

I hate the idea of never trusting anyone ever again, if we never gave seconds chances, we'd essentially be demanding perfection from everyone with no room to learn and improve.

But at the same time, there's some decisions you never make unless you're braindead and past the point of learning, especially when you make them without informing yourself properly despite having all the time for that.

NCSoft could have browsed the forums, talked with the players and see that the majority of players had no problem with big tits and there was no real reason for this. They didn't, they made a dumb pandering decision based on emotion and they paid the price for it, showing how incompetent they are.

Changing it later just gives you the garantee they know they fucked up in pandering to who gave them money, but there's no garantee they suddendly became competent devs or have less SJWs impulses in there that they are keeping in check for the time being.

Guess you never were in a BT farming guild. Guilds spent 10 fucking months farming that place. It was a dredge. It went beyond farm status and fell into a god damn snooze fest. Every single person I've talked to that raided semi-hardcore or hardcore during patch 2.1 and up until Sunwell release shared the same fucking opinion: get BT/Hyjal done ASAP and be done with raiding for the week as quickly and efficiently as possible, and then spit on Illidan's corpse because he didn't drop glaives yet again. Having to spend a few hours in TK/SSC to attune someone (or a few people at a time if your guild was smart) was torture. Every raider hated it. The only people who "liked it" were backseat raiders and forum warriors who didn't have to jump through hoops every few weeks for a new trial.

I think the best thing in that case is to closely supervise everything. Double jump was in Perfect World long before Wildstar even was a thing. So that part is nothing orginal.

I have thought this game was pretty fun when I played it, but I only ever played solo with the healer class, making it way harder. It had some nice conceptual ideas but really failed to pull almost any of it off. I think one of the big problems was the same thing in every MMO, that there's no fucking point to playing with people until way late in the game by the time a lot of people get bored of it. Also, the eternal "could have just made a better single player game with less money spent."

I interviewed at Carbine ~3 years before Wildstar released for a lowly QA job. For some reason I was told I would be interviewed by the QA lead but instead I was interviewed by the community manager, some faggot who called himself Scooter. He brought in this asian bitch named Angie who about half way through the interview started screaming at me because I "was and exploiter." To the guys credit he apologized to me on her behalf but I knew then everything after was formal and I wasn't getting the job. Years later I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I ended up getting in the early round of beta thanks to an artist I knew who worked there. The beta forums were the worst case of dev cocksucking I had ever witnessed and constructive posts about gameplay mechanics were constantly removed for negativity early on. An example was the Esper and how using its abilities locked you into place, something they changed about a year after release when the class became mobile like all the other classes in the game.

I had heard some crazy stories from my artist friend too, like Tim Cains fat husband only doing ballet pirouettes as a way of locomotion down the hallways and how Jeremy Gaffney embezzled millions while working on the COH/COV sequel before NCsoft West put him on the Wildstar team.

You need to understand that to businessmen and NPCs, making a company isn't something a man does to enjoy his work/life, or to provide a service to a community/audience. A business, a product, anything - it's all an investment of time and "equity" so it can be sold to a big box megacorp down the line. Selling your work (and all the employees, benefits, etc. you've met and cultivated along the way) to someone else for a fat check is the be-all, end-all goal of anyone who makes a living in money management.

This is probably counterintuitive to you, because you're probably dumb or not Jewish enough to think of someone's life's work as being disposable. You might even be naive enough to consider what will happen to the customers after your carpentry business becomes just another Home Depot contractor. All these feelings are weakness in the business world - you live to sell things, not to create anything meaningful and become prosperous by doing so.

If you want to have a company really staffed by men who care, then you need to tell them this from day 1 so you weed out any bug men joining you for the purpose of getting good marks on their resumes.

I enjoyed the medic and was fun leveling up. But the attunements end game where a bitch, and getting people to stick around and help after they got attuned was none existent. So if you weren't one of the few that got in early, doing end game raids was impossible for most.
