I just ordered a shitload of new parts to fix up my old PSP. New screen, battery, power jack, power switch, battery/charger and sd -> mem stick adaptor. Looking forward to restoring it to it's former glory.

Total came to about 80$ or so with shipping, which isn't really much better than buying one off ebay and rolling the dice. All the pawn places in town overvalue them sadly and used game stores are a crapshoot or have old 1000/2000 models.

I checked the ifixit repair guides for it before making the investment. All you need is a spudger and a small screwdriver, which I already have, and as long as you're not an idiot and keep your screws tidy, it's pretty straightforward to do.

PSP Im@s DLCs require a special DRM program to be activated at certain point, that adds another layer to the overall challenge.

All the replacement parts I'm buying have their own ribbon cables attached already. Also, most of the repairs I'm doing are top-layer shit. Replacing the screen/power jack/power switch is all pretty easy as long as you take your time with it.
