What good D1 clones do you know?
As opposed to Diablo 2 clones.
>no open world/different towns shenanigans - only one town/hub area
>real fucking deep dungeon
>few but flexible classes
The only one I can think of is Torchlight 1.
Maybe restricted area since it also has only one town, but for the rest of it it's a d2 clone through and through.

Van Helsing was sort of like a mix between D2 and D1 but I got a "D1 if it was more lighthearted" vibe from it

game is called almost alive. was twelve bucks. seems to have a good sense of humor, handrawn. plenty of weapons. ned to fihgure out how to shot.
char creation is good old choose some good and bad things for your character. the bad tjhey call crazy. seems pretty open ended. wil play more.

diablo 1 is a clone of gauntlet which has more and far better games than diablo as a series, such as 4, legends and dark legacy. If you want diablo but good, try gauntlet.

I played more. kind of like falout 2 mixed with original syndicate drunk out of a glass that just had diablo in it. I mean that are a bunch of randomized drop guns and plenty of ammo. plenty of ways to interact with a group of bad guy.
but It does feel like the current content might be limited to only 6 or so camped out groups but following quest line mighht unlock the next area? havn't tangled with army yet. I think I killed the neozis and the raiders.
guns feel pretty good. all is real time
I did have a jaged alliance 2 itch and this sort of gets it. there is amo and sleeping and a major map.
for me it is worth the tweleve bucks but for another person I couldnot ness recomend at this time. unsure of future content updates. camping to sleep is cool. radiation is not in game yet.
back to OP, anynbody have a good diabloesque game? I went looking and this as best as I could find. very very into other suggestions. have a low fi looting itch to scratch.

I can't think of a good actual clone of Diablo 1. However, I recently finished what Exanima has to offer and it gave me very similar vibes to Diablo 1 at some points. It isn't an ARPG, but if you want the same atmosphere of diving into a surrealistically deep and dark labyrinth, it definitely delivers. Just keep in mind that the combat is fairly experimental, though very rewarding once you learn what you're doing.
Keep in mind that it's still early in development though, I'd recommend pirating it if you're interested.
