1: contextually appropriate qtes. It's not a game where an epic fight with Sauron is reduced to a couple button presses.

Shenmue usually only uses qtes to give you input in events. And the first game at least has one qte that's a trap (getting a shave)

Shenmue is basically just a prototype walking simulator and is also responsible for the birth of QTEs. It's shit and if it came out today instead of years ago for a ded console nobody would like it.

Reminder that once you beat the 70 man battle that you should absolutely save that same night.

The save bug happens after the credits (save screen closes without any input from the player). If you want to carry your data over to Shenmue 2, you need to go through the ending again and the last safe place to save is the night before you meet Chen and Gui Zhang right before Chai attacks you.

Was this game ever good? It's totally lame asking where to find the sailors and even the fighting sucks. Yakuza series is so much better. I'm glad it flopped so Yakuza could rise instead.
