Remember all those arcade-style titles like Resogun, Alienation, The Reap, Super Stardust, Outland and Nex Machina, and how they proclaimed "Arcades are Dead" after Nex Machina only sold like 100,000 copies?

Well, the first thing they do after their streak of arcade games is make a battle royale Fortnite ripoff, but grittier. You can't signal that you're facing bankruptcy more unsubtly than making a fucking battle royale game.

here's the point they're missing. people fucking love it when they feel like they made a great deal. paying over 20 bucks for a simple looking arcade shooty bang bang didn't look a deal for a lot of people. either present your games better to the audience or adjust your asking price.

same goes for the new tempest.

Or put more than an hour's worth of content in your game. If you're going to make something simple then take advantage of that and make shit tons of levels, playable character, items and whatever.
