Regular OP of the Friday Night threads here. Didn't notice this thread until now as it is anchored, and the Friday Night thread that the mods allowed to stay up was just deleted anyway after running the regular course of a thread.
I apologized yesterday in the 2nd thread for originally making the thread too early, saying that I would be sure to return to my regular thread creation time in the future and only made it early yesterday as I needed to get up unusually early for a doctor's appointment. I ended up returning home around the time that I usually create the thread anyway, but by then the lion's share of this thread had already occurred and the 2nd (successful) thread had been created mere minutes earlier.
I stand by my general conviction that the threads should be created at the beginning of the day, so that anons can post their plans for what they're doing that Friday Night. This allows for the culture of the thread which has existed hitherto, not to mention simply providing the opportunity for virtually all anons, from all timezones, to post in the thread.
Again, I promise to return to my usual time as is customary. And in return, I'd like to set conditions for the thread which have been generally accepted but gone unsaid:
I would like for deletion of the thread(s) to only occur under an extremely narrow set of circumstances. Essentially, only in the case of (a) severe/uncommon rule violation(s), or if a thread lasts all the way into the following week due to anons continuously bumping it. I have expressed this very belief to the aforementioned mod, and they were approving of it.
As I said, I noticed that the thread which was created after mine has now been deleted. I don't like this. I'd love for the thread to be at least left up over the weekend, as some anons enjoy returning to it once the *Friday Night* is over and continuing to post in it. I don't want the weekly *Friday Night* thread turning into another 4AM kinda thread, in which it is deleted at some unholy hour of the morning each time and well before anybody who gets up past 7 in the morning has the chance to browse through it.
*Friday Night* threads are special, and I enjoy creating them and watching over them. I hope this can continue as I'd like it to.
