The gameplay's simplicity reminded me of Guild Wars 1 in the fact the projectile types and mechanics would never change, but instead you had over 50 different creative stats each doing something fucked up. Reflect 90% of damage back to enemy, eat up 90% of damage, invert controls, spin camera around, slow movement by 80%, slow down attack charge time by 80%, harm opponent whenever he attacks, stop opponent from flying, switch location with opponent, teleport opponent at random locations, etc.

But yeah one thing I do remember going back to and being absolutely amazed by was the sound quality. The samples they used for each sound effect and ambiance was 100% without audio loss.
