Have we ever talked about Zanzarah? It's an adventure RPG where you capture monsters and level them up to make an unbeatable team of 5 monsters. There's about 80 pocket monsters in the game.

The gameplay is interesting because despite being 3rd person adventure RPG, it's also a first person shooter. You charge up your attack to launch at the opponent, but if you charge up too much it blows up in your face.

The gameplay's simplicity reminded me of Guild Wars 1 in the fact the projectile types and mechanics would never change, but instead you had over 50 different creative stats each doing something fucked up. Reflect 90% of damage back to enemy, eat up 90% of damage, invert controls, spin camera around, slow movement by 80%, slow down attack charge time by 80%, harm opponent whenever he attacks, stop opponent from flying, switch location with opponent, teleport opponent at random locations, etc.

But yeah one thing I do remember going back to and being absolutely amazed by was the sound quality. The samples they used for each sound effect and ambiance was 100% without audio loss.

I played a version without the soundtrack, it only had the sound effects. I hear what I've missed so far, music really does add a new experience to any game.

Tried to get them all but gave up instead of grinding money for pokeballs

Its kind of crazy how some types introduced later in the game are fucking busted and how little mechanical skills is involved in the combat.

Anyone know any good insta-hacks for this game? I wanna see if Light+Ice is truly the strongest dual build combo, but it's too much work to waste 1 week evolving 5 pokemons to level 50.

I remember that the first crack did not go through all copy protection and your faires were limited to doing 1 Point of Damage per Attack.

It was fun though and introduced my Sister to FPS Gameplay.

The lack of differing projectiles and differing flying types was really what held this game back. No one had any 5 attacks per second type of mechanic. Even the fastest attack needed at least 2 seconds of charge up.

Same for the overly simplistic arena maps which suck ass when doing team fights with 5-8 fairies at once.
