LT here, sound has been reworked once more.
Now it does stop when entering the game, songs loop on title screen forever, and I figured out what the difference is between spawn() and sleep() from wondering why the fuck the login screen wouldn't pop up.
Downside is that songs flat out do not fade in/out.
I will merge Iro's build into the master. Meanwhile, Iro, please for the love of god update your fork. You still have shit like finale.dmb from nearly the first iteration. I think you just need to pull or something and it'll fix it for you.
Upside, is now I can actually finish sounds (read: manually adding them to everything in the game including flags to stop said sounds) and get on to other minor things that'll stump me for another two-three weeks.

I, STRRRRROMBOL leader of the glorious V Fighters, will be hosting a tournament this Saturday at 11pm EST. No killing, no flying, no kb or stun, all that good stuff. The winner gets a buncha money that I may admin aboose since I'm broke as shit as well as LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP INTO THE RENOWN NEO V FIGHTERS
Moving on from that, we need to talk about what the fuck to do regarding this wipe. Originally, the idea of this wipe was that it would be a mini-wipe since at the time we thought Climax would be in ready condition by now. However, its taken more work than we anticipated especially since I suck with code, and we're stuck sitting in a wipe with nothing to do.
There are a few solutions to this:
1. Easy answer would be to enable all the planets in the galaxy. We'd find an RP way to go about it so its not some "Oh everythings alive again lol". The other option is:
2. WIPE HYPE. We wipe and start anew, do new lore, etc. We could try implementing more RP rules again, such as a form of tech tiers and custom ranks.

If you're interested in working on this as your next project, here are pointers and the gist of what I'd do in a way that should be easy to understand.
The way you handle this is by processing a unique, immortal object that may or may not have a sprite and applies effects on a range in view equivalent to the box size portioned off for the Core. You are cheating by making this handle a lot of things that turfs can't reasonably be expected to handle; this is probably how Tens did it because he's also a lazy bastard.
Optimization: run it based on for(mob state here) in view so that it doesn't just autorun when empty and cut the execution when istype(mob/Enemy), which is the designated nasty mob syntax.
Feature Replication: random x, y in a weighted range and a unique object type of obj/attack can be used to make localized explosions. General deleterious aura can be placed in the for() loop, you just add an exception for hpregen in movement handler that instead has a negative aura. You can use the for(mob) in range to calculate the total number of mobs in the area in a single variable and make a spawn for Enemies that is dependent on the number of mobs in range.
Additions: You can make the features intensify based on # of people inside and how long people remain with an var in the object loop similar to the mob-count, not just the strength of the anti-regen. Increased BP ratio, smarter AI at various barriers, so forth. Music that actually works and reflects the intensification. Ascension state with an immortal bullet hell boss mob that fucking demolishes everyone within after a certain collective duration has been reached and gives massive gains for however long you manage to survive.
To prevent mobs from ticking up this timer you make for(mob) ++ the variable and then the istype(mob/Enemy) test within – the var before terminating; add a seperate if statement that sets the total value to 0 if it is the same twice in a row, which should only happen if the numbers of ++ and – is exactly the same, i.e. there are only NPC mobs.

Let me tell you the tale of how Dragon Semen, defined as "power wishing" impacted the Halfie Wipe from months ago.
Back in the day, the year speed was much higher, and Balls dropped about once every hour or so. Klillia, our Turtle Hermit, discovered a quick way to get much stronger; power wishing. He had made about a dozen power wishes until everyone started realizing what he was doing, since a human with a power level that surpasses a recently ascended SSJ is pretty nuts. The wipe turned into everyone just making power wishes left and right. The wipe ended with most people having made at least 10 power wishes, and Klill, God bless him, having over 30. The lesson learned here is that while power wishing DOES grant you a boost, constantly using it will just make you look like a faggot, not to mention leech gains will boost the rest of the server up to your newly boosted power level anyway

Oh wew, not at all though some people try and inevitably get their asses handed to them. We're a LITE RP server, i.e no tech tiers but most people like developing arcs and character interactions with other players.
As for stat-building in Dragon Universe, the total stats you get differ across each race. Arguably the best stats to invest in are Reflex, Speed, and Accuracy. Reflex is so you can dodge/reflect beams, Speed enables you to attack and charge beams faster, and Accuracy is so your attacks have a much better chance of landing. I'm not the best with aligning stats, but theres plenty of people on the serb who can give you a step in the right direction.

Killing outside of antag plots, as revenge for niggering drills/bases, or mutually agreed upon "this is a serious fight" moments is generally frowned upon; the murderiest murdernigger is me, but since Squirtle is retired until at least Climax release and maybe longer, that's not an overwhelming concern. My last BBEG scheme was locking down the entire universe so I could have a comfy space-station safe from random destruction, remarkably pacifistic honestly.
Optimal builds are irrelevant thanks to beam and shockwave. If you want to be a real motherfucker without having to actually win fights, sink points in recovery, regen, durability, and speed; learn Zanzo+Heal+Shockwave+Taiyo and whenever a group fight happens or you get a chance quietly heal up/drag away. people on your side. Make sure to shout "SENZU BEAN" in ooc every time you do until people figure out what's going on and qq.

Fixed up Devil Bringer skill in Climax; its essentially just the demon version of Kai Teleport, except Heaven is swapped out with the Demon Realm (that place Towa came from in DBO and the Xenoverse games), which may/may not replace Vegeta's Core
Also ported over Soul Absorb. Hoping to finish up Kai/Demon skills soon and play with maps/icons some more. Will start work on coding the Core when I'm more confident in doing code

The ranks that get assigned the skills get those plus the Majinize/Mystify skills. I'll update my fork with those if you wanna take a look at em also, have my merge requests been working? That is the goal.
Notable differences in direction:
>Speeds will vary and slow characters will have to make choices between being faster and being powerful/accurate.
Example: Everyone will be able to dash. Dashing will raise speed only slightly for fast characters but greatly for slow characters. Dashing will drop stats only slightly for fast characters but greatly for slow characters.

Example: Strafing has already been implemented in a fairly rudimentary form, some skills will make you slower while you charge or lock you down, others will give you bursts of speed. A very obvious case will be "Rapid Movement" which will be used as an evasive tool and gap-closer depending on your distance and context.

Martial Arts will exist at all and have a strong focus on positioning and timely execution.
I intend to implement a set of 3 "action buttons" that take on varying contexts based on what you have equipped- barehanded, they will most likely be "strafe left", "strafe right", and "charge skill". For example, you could start charging and then hit a counter art, or do a mix-up and use Wolf Fang Fist to charge at once you fool them into trying to ramp up beam on you.
>There will be a discrete category of magical skills and this will serve as a third component to combat.
OG Dragonball and some of Z had a strong third component of actual magic and this will be explored to add variety and options. Common skills that are inexplicable but don't use Ki at all will find their way here (like making Dragon Balls). Inspiration will be taken from both Taoist tradition and Western esoterica, as the Toriyama of years past would have wanted.

You gain skill points as you gain BP and spend those skill points on skills, which can represent anything from buffs to (a) new move(s). If you sink many points into your body skills, you will be naturally stronger. Racial mods are important but not insurmountable; you maximize potency by working with racial mods though.
Refunding skills and skill trees currently has a small cost associated with it to slightly curb abuse.

This is mostly under the hood, but discrete changes are being made to the game's subsystems to make things make more sense overall. No more "what the fuck Tens" moments, God willing.
Much of these things discussed are still far off (though not as much as you might think), right now we're focused on getting everything up and running. Climax is an open project, so if anyone reading this is interested in that bright future, feel free to pitch in.
