Climax Idea:
>Androids and Cyborgs have their stats determined by components that can be installed and swapped. Components represent limbs, and thus have a hard cap on the number that can be installed. Cyborgs are limited to a standard set of limbs and have a small pool of extra slots for limb installations. Components have small point buys that influence the stats of the user, with the pool of available points increasing as a Component is improved through science. A Component naturally has higher base stats for a specific stat (Eyes having a higher Accuracy and Legs having a higher Reflex, for example.) Some Components might have additional features at the cost of having a smaller available point pool. Additionally, some Components are strictly for Cyborgs and replicate other racial abilities, such as allowing non-saiyans a means access to Oozaru or a niche Alien ability like Time Freeze.
>Androids are designed from a "Chassis". This chassis determines how many slots of a Component type they might have access to. By using science to upgrade their chassis, the number of available component slots, influenced by their chassis type, and their base BP is increased.
>Components have a durability value, which serves as a portion of the user's max health. As Components cannot heal through traditional means, they require regular maintenance to prevent breaking, while completely broken Components must be replaced. For Cyborgs, this means giving up a portion of their natural Max HP for HP through durability. Similarly, any stats or abilities gained from Components would be lost should it be broken or removed.
>A max science Android would be able to compete with an Alien in terms of pointbuy flexibility while having access to a high BP through science, but maintaining those stats and that BP would require costly Components and equally costly maintenance or replacements.
>As Components are subject to damage, the Injure verb now serves as a massive danger to Androids and Cyborgs, as Injure attempts will damage Components with the potential of breaking them.

Regarding Shops specifically, I'm planning to have each planet sell unique gear. For example; Earth sells a mixed-bag of goods, pretty much all your basics; Planet Namek sells lighter clothing and Namek-themed outfits, but does not sell any weapons; Planet Vegeta sells all sorts of Saiyan armor, weapons, and scouters, but are more expensive than other planets.

The only thing stopping us from adding more motion/animation to all the current character sprites is that you'd have to go through every single sprite and update the animation files, which not only includes the base bodies, but also the hairs, clothing, and everything that counts as an overlay so that they sync up well with the character icons' updated animations. If anyone wanted to use their own custom icons they downloaded off IconShare, they'd have to add the same animations manually. In other words, its a lot of extra work, extra work which I don't think is really all that necessary imo

Creative new skills/verbs that you would expect in a dragonball game are good, by now there are many model examples of how to do that sort of thing in blast.dm and speedy.dm and to a lesser extent Power Control.dm, we are mostly done with porting old skills. Fun non-dragonball stuff should probably wait until the actual structure is built.
Contacts, Sense, Anger and company could use overhauls and while they're on my radar I am not treating them as especially important because they hypothetically work.
Anything done before 8PM est today is golden because I have time to integrate them into the general game structure in a coherent way, which is something that no one else seems to have quite figured out yet. It'll make way more sense once I have body/mind basically populated.
Something about my gains math feels too slow and I could use extra eyes to double-check over the new master files; I've already fixed several small bugs that probably made the test-runs feel extra jank.
Personalizing the maps and improving the build system is pretty important but an area I have no talent in, much like sprites.
These are the sorts of things that we could use for Sunday if we want to try running it.

Alright, since it looks like Climax won't be ready for a while (hopefully we'll have a beta ready by the anniversary in January), I'll announce some plans for next wipe
1) Reintroduction of RP rules/Tech Tiers: Since a lot of people wanted to go back to more RP involved gameplay, RP rules will come back. Tech Tiers will be readded, and we'll increase the tier every 5 days. Pods and Spaceships will be added 3 days after Tier 1 and Tier 3 respectively. Scientist roles are getting dropped. The Tech Tier pastebin will be adjusted accordingly.
2) Planets: Because we often had the problem of some people having jackshit to do on lone planets like Ice or Android until pods were enabled, every planet minus Earth, Vegeta, and Arconia will be disabled at the start. Races that dont spawn on these planets normally will have their spawns set to one of these planets (Earth: Humans, Spirit Dolls, Namekians, Androids. Vegeta: Saiyans, Tsujins, Makyos. Arconia: Ayyliens, Icers, BioAndroids. Space: Majins. Afterlife: Kais, Demons, Demigods.) Majins will also be re-enabled at start, but only 2 can exist. This way, you'll actually have people to interact with early wipe if you choose to spawn as something other than a human. The other planets will be re-enabled once pods are back.
3) Shikon Jewels: Shikon Jewels will be available at some point during the wipe, likely around Tier 2 or 3. Only 4 will exist at a time. Their locations will be randomly decided upon being spawned
4) Aboose Buffs: No more Potara/Fusions, they're always a pain in the ass to implement. Aboose buffs will NOT be present in this wipe.

Honestly that stems from the fact that the playerbases for many races are so small. A really fucking good Demon is far scarier than a really good Saiyan because you really don’t know what a Demon could exactly do. At the same time there are enough Saiyan players that every decent player has an optimal Saiyan build whereas for Demons you almost have to make a good build from scratch.

While that may not have been the worst wipe, it, at least for me, was definitely the most disappointing. We had a nice concept with the single planet but then decided to scrap it, and that didn't do much for interest. The only arcs I can remember were Friendmeister's Bizarre Adventure, something with Pinach?? and Vergil's fuckery. The problem with that is that 2/3rds of my memory are devoted to admin made stuff. Iro you need to chill just a bit on things being fair for everyone and let the players make their own fun and their own arcs. And Hoovy you need to let other people have a fuckin' chance to have some fun, you "claimed" the endgame arc before the endgame even began, that's fucked up. There shouldn't even be "claiming" arcs.
The DIO arc was fucking hilarious and the Arconia arc could've been something really cool and WAS cool while it lasted, and those arcs were put together by the community.
Compare that to the Majora arc, it was a spectacle but not very noteworthy to me. Just because the admins have the power to mess with the game doesn't mean they should exclusively be the source of all arcs. If people need some admin help to make themselves real threats they should only get it after proving their arcs worth doing by some personal action like kidnapping or murder or some declaration or some shit, not for no reason.
This is just a dang ol' rant but I hope there's at least some coherency here.

In order for the contract to be sealed/in effect, you must give it to Maltose himself at around 332, 476 in Hell, the place is near the Hell-Checkpoint cave shortcut house. "Solar Period" means a single day, and the price for Soul Contract is for one single year of life to be taken from the Giver. If the contract is rendered Null/Void for any reason Maltose will take a additional year of life in order to give back ownership of the soul.

How to get muh skills:
Bind - Stay in hell for one hour attacking mobs and/or recovering from attacking mobs. No training verb allowed. (Alternatively, you CAN just afk through it all, but you have to let me bind you, and slowly unbind you overtime. Dead only, obviously.)
Majin - Either be soul contract'd and learn the skill as the result of the power part of the contract, or alternatively, we play a children's card game. (Your choice, MTG or Yugioh, using MTG Forge or YugiPRO. No banlist, but no meta decks, iconic decks allowed. May use anime rules. For MTG, deck price must be below 500$.)
Soul Contract - Demons get it easy- you just have to ask and be somewhat well-known. Otherwise, it's stay in a soul contract for a day or two, be somewhat well-known, and have a business pitch. (You can skip the former part if its a really good pitch. Or if you make a deal. Either way, you need to be somewhat well known. No alts unless (b)admin permission.)
Reincarnation - Prove you have Death Regen, and stay powered up for an entire minute.
Giant Form- Same as Majin.
Make Amulet- Be Soul Contracted, be EG/Popo/Namek Elder, or be Demon to get the actual skill. Otherwise it's just good in-character rep and actually being dead for a amulet. I've already given a few of these out.
For all skills, you can just do the whole playing a children's card game thing as a final alternative (EXCEPT Bind & Soul Contract.). In the case of MTG, it's best of 2, and in case of a draw, (1-1,) you get the skill. In Yugioh, it's best of 3. No limits on challenges, though I do ask to be patient & let a nigga have a break in between duels. While dueling we'll have special overlays to wear (in the form of clothes) to symbolize it, and I'll attempt to make a stream so others can do that weird anime thing where they comment on really obvious things during card games.
