I spend weeks figuring out what to do and how and where to use items. I do not remember hating it though.

Second, the problem with that was the awfull localization, bullshit levels and lack of cool bosses.

The entire joke of the original Angry Nintendo Nerd video was a character getting unnecessarily angry at flaws in a pretty good game. He's always said he actually likes the game.

Personally, I like Castlevania for the action, and don't care for this game or the Symphony of the Night style ones, for that matter. But I can see people who like the adventure game aspect of it and getting more into it for that reason.

Your taste is bad and you should feel bad. Sonic Adventure 1 is a good foundation for how Sonic should move in 3D, bugs that don't get in the way of playing, but do let you do cool things like getting characters into levels that were never intended for them. Searching for bugs in Sonic Adventure 1 adds tons of replay value. The story is the conclusion of the previous games' stories and anyone who has a problem with it is a brainlet faggot.

Sonic Adventure 2 refines the previous game, removing a lot of the fluff (though I liked some of the fluff) but vastly improving on what's left by giving far, far better level design, and a mission and rank system, plus great and perfectly spaced unlockables, to keep you coming back for tons of replay value.

Unleashed is the start of Boost Sonic, which is basically a mediocre single player racing game instead of a platformer. Very polished and great presentation, though. I agree this one gets a bad rep. Also, the final Sonic game that had a story. The original Sonic games had a story and only newfags think Sonic shouldn't have a story. Unleashed tried to compromise and meet you fags halfway, but no. Now we get no story except for Forces, which is the result of people who worked on the new games, those who don't like or understand the stories that go back to the original game, making what people like you think the Adventure games' stories were, which of course is never what they were but you fags ruined it all anyway.

Heroes is Sonic Adventure 2 with worse gameplay, level designs, missions, scoring, and unlockables. It's fine, but it's a downgrade in every way from the previous game.

I've played through GTA V a couple of times, and I continue to be shocked at the complete lack of satire of critique present in the story. S3&K is linear with alternate paths, same as SA2. The one that comes closest to being non-linear would be CD, since it has more to encourage exploration, but even then, no, it's still very linear and you just have to explore linear stages with alternate paths.

Why are "hallways" bad? Don't fall for the open world meme. Not being able to just walk around obstacles doesn't make a game bad. Games like Crash and 3D Sonic are 3D obstacle courses. Sonic Adventure 2 in particular has a lot alternate paths that you can only reach with quick reactions, high skill, and also exploring the level and finding the secret paths in the first place. Of course each level also has other secret things hidden in it, like Chao Keys, rare animals, secret moves, and Golden Beetles. And if you want to get a high rank, you need to figure out not just the shortest route through the level, but the route that can get you the most points without slowing you down too much.

You bring up Forces as dumbing down level design, but that's been the case since Unleashed, when they decided to cater to GOTTA GO FAST faggots who never liked Sonic before and didn't realize that speed is a reward for being good at the game, not something you are just handed. So now you have a boost button that automatically kills enemies and destroys obstacles in your way, and attracts rings to you, and the levels are not just hallways, but sparse hallways with tons of nothing because you're expected to "go fast" through them. This is instead of courses with lots of things in the way but placed in such a way that if you're skillful, you can get through them with a good sense of flow, which the old Sonic games managed to do, and the Adventure style games gave you movement and control that allowed you do to this, with Adventure 2 giving level designs and challenges that were best built around this.

Doom 3 and Doom 64. For Doom 64 I think its underrated also because it is probably not very known besides to the die hard Doom fans. Besides that it is a great Doom game with familiar gameplay that most fans of the originals should like. Doom 3 also had horror elements like Doom 64 which I think actually fits the franchise very well. Its not a perfect game but it does a lot well like having good lighting, at the time great graphics, great hell level, and the shooting was decent at least.

Halo Reach imo. I loved everything about that game. I played the campaign more than any other Halo game.
