What are some games good for zoning out and grinding a few hours? I've gotten to the point in Warframe where I dont really have anything to grind except mastery fodder and Black Desert Online's PVP is such a fucking mess and RNG riddled that I quit playing.

I'd recommend Rise to Ruins but its in early access so pirate it any other city builder like Cities:Skylines or Middle Earth:Shadow of War are grind intensive and are pretty comfy with a podcast or youtube video in the background

I've been playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and it's pretty good for this. Every time you digivolve/de-digivolve it sets you back at level 1 but also increases your maximum level. Some digivolutions can only be obtained by achieving a massive level with earlier forms which means digivolving up and then back down.
There's also several other mechanics that allow you to minmax by acquiring a high scan rate before you convert a digimon and also the ability to obtain moves that you normally wouldn't by exploring a digivolution tree, de-digivolving and going down another tree.
Basically it can get pretty autistic if you want it to and there's lots of resetting levels if you go that route. Alternatively, you can just be all "I wanna be wargreymon" and follow the show's digivolution paths without giving a fuck.

If you've played AC before the game content is pre-Thrown of Destiny (ie, no dual wield, no 2-handers, no void magic, no summoning). Devs are constantly patching in more content, and the goal is to emulate the final retail game as of shutdown last year.

Tree of Savior would be a good game for that, just hopping around a place with good monsters for your build and killing them at your own pace.
Too bad the grinding is based on quests and a few classes are ridiculously over powered idle farmers, though.
I think Mabinogi(play Mabipro) has a lot of grinding, you even have to use skills repeatedly to train them. I just don't play it because I didn't like the combat and movement at all.

I'm doing that with Grim Dawn right now.
I feel like Warframe requires too many redundant inputs which is annoying for a brainless grinder. Ctrl space ctrl space it hurts my fingers when I do it once every 2 seconds. With grim dawn I can just click shit and have more interesting itemization.

Do harder difficulties and get better weapons. There is Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, which has more characters, but less grinding, with the exception of Gauntlet Mode which lasts a very long time.

Runescape /v/scape and diablo 2 especially with plugy addon are my go-to grindan games. It's probably better to stay away from grinding in multiplayer games though otherwise you'll get sucked in forever
