We play this game every year for Teagan, unintentionally one of the best characters ever created.

Most of the art in Refinery is a few years old so it's from about the same time as Uncommon Time or before. The sad truth is she's got worse since then, going from 'vaguely 90's anime inspired but with 2010's level sameface' to 'partially melted tumblr style'.
Refinery itself is actually an OK story. It's mostly dull-but-comfy SOL stuff but there are a couple of parts that people would probably enjoy in stream, especially the last side story after reading the main story.

Alto is literally Griffith-tier. She's worse than a lot of people even realise, since the full extent of what she does is set up but not resolved in the game (because actually resolving the consequences of her actions would mean that she'd have to admit that she was wrong).
Being an edgelord who wants to destroy civilisation is pretty standard JRPG-villain fare but that isn't the worst thing Alto does. Alto "never made a wrong decision". She didn't pick the first three people she met that played the right instruments by accident: It "had" to be those people. And she understands them - she knows that Meirin needed someone to believe in her in order to be confident from just about the first moment she met her. It isn't an accident that they give up when Alto decides not to save the world - that's the real reason Alto choose them all to be in the ensemble.
Alto has a near-supernatural gift of empathy that let her see how vulnerable Saki, Meirin and Aubrey were despite the brave faces they put on. She can tell that they're desperate and detached from the world despite their happy masks because she's the same way. Alto finds three unhappy and vulnerable people who are all isolated and in need of genuine compassion, shows them a glimpse of hope, friendship and a purpose in life, and then uses them as tools in her global murder-suicide scheme.
The world tuning didn't fail because they were incompetent - the group all played in harmony, but Alto led them in a song to end the world rather than saving it. And they followed, because deep down they all had that desire to let the world end. That's why they were there - that's why they were 'in harmony' with Alto.
It's worse for Teagan. Teagan's part of the ensemble, and she shared the same feeling as them. At her lowest, she does more to help destroy the world than any of them. But it isn't for her own sake - she isn't detached from the world like Aubrey is, or alone like Meirin is, or as hopeless as Saki is. She's got a family that she loves waiting for her to come home, and she's got a bright future as an all-around talented person. She's ready to end the world for the sake of her friend. She plays her part in the failed ritual, and rips up the score, to stop Alto from going home.
That's how far Teagan would go for her friend, and Alto knew that. That's why Teagan *had* to be her first violinist - because she cares about Alto so much that, in her darkest hour, she'd choose Alto over the entire world. Then Alto blames Teagan for everything and tells her that her "shitty manipulative bullshit" has got to stop.
Alto is a fucking monster.
But, if Alto was ever able to confront what she's done - if author fiat didn't brush it under the rug so she could be right about everything and anyone who disagrees with her is wrong, if she was allowed to ever forgive anyone and in turn be able to ask for forgiveness herself - that would make her one hell of a hero. "Winter" Alto has a whole speech about how she's outraged to be used as a tool by her family and by extension the rest of the world, but she's never confronted about using Teagan and the others as her tools in turn. Alto doesn't get the chance to prove herself as a hero. Because that would mean forgiving Teagan, and that's not allowed.

I don't really know this game and only got interested because of Mark's sperg out, but doesn't that make Teagan a bad friend (or a friend not good enough) since she can't face Alto and tell her she's fucking nuts? Teagan tries but there's a limit to what she can do, since Alto doesn't confide in her. Alto can't tell her everything since Teagan's confrontational nature would probably make her situation worse, and also because Alto doesn't really understand her situation herself. By the time she actually realises that she hates her family and situation she's repressed it so much that it's turned into an alternate personality. So Teagan ends up frustrated trying to care for someone that doesn't seem to understand her own problems and who pretends nothing's wrong. Alto's speech after the Teagan boss fight has a whole lot about Teagan not listening to her but for her part Alto was never completely honest with Teagan about her problems until after that point (and even then, not completely).

CODA is a follow up to ending 4. It's standalone rpgmaker game that's wonky as hell and pretty autistic but it hopefully won't crash or softlock. It's got 4 endings but it isn't actually all that long, it should take about an hour to see them all. The readme explains how to get the different endings.
I don't know if you'll want to play it after Duet or if it'll make the stream go into an extra day but it's all zipped up and ready to go.

I honestly thing we should play Coda before Duet, if we're finishing the stream today.
Duet is best as an absolute finale. Without saying anything about Coda, it's a ride.
And to say a LOT of spoilery shit about Coda now, it's impressive in many ways. The enemies were well done, and I had to carefully think two turns ahead, quite often. But emotionally speaking, this isn't as satisfying as Duet. That's hard to do since Duet was so necessary I feel it's more canon than canon. Coda is more of a fun what-if, though. Or a lot of fun what-ifs. I don't know if I can say Teagan was 100% in character, but if it allows the story to happen I don't mind.
I am also really, really glad I let Aubrey live, thanks for rewarding me for making the fight harder on myself. Aubrey and Baroque weren't as fleshed out as Teagan and Alto but it was a sweet special finale
Really nice stuff with RPGMaker, too, I enjoyed the puzzles and the battles. Props to duetanon and the drawfag, I've got to carry that weight.

Basically, the last failed Uncommon Time fangame was a continuation of the ending where Teagan kills off the party and I've been revisiting it lately. The AIDS Berserk name thing comes from the enemy designs being influenced by deformed syphilis carriers and other STD symptoms.
Partway through development it got derailed and ended up released as a different game named Die Totenmaske. If you dig through Die Totenmaske's files you can actually find most of the Teagan game's soundtrack.

So here's the current status, since some people where already asking.
I have the full recordings of the streams from the last three days.
A days stream is ~12GB in size, so since probably nobody wants to download a triple-A games worth of disk space for the full set, and to keep the chances low of getting shoah'd, I'm doing a full re-encode of the streams with minimal quality loss.
Meaning vids will still remain in 720p and chat will still be pristine and good to read, while allowing me to keep the filesize down to 10% through some computer wizardry.
I will also merge the segments when Thassil had to restart the stream, so we will get one file per streamday.
I will also be keeping the source audio, so no quality loss there.
The whole process will cost me ~6 hours per vid, so I'll be uploading the vids, as soon as they've finished encoding.

So, I have to say about CODA, the writing definitely isn't as strong as Duet. In Duet you were able to find a way to work within the framework of the rules and structure of the story and somehow find a way to mend the characterization in a way that felt natural, which was amazing. In CODA, however, the story has to bend a lot of rules and the characters feel much more detached from how we expect them to feel and behave without evolving gradually like they did in Duet, and in general it feels less believable, even though it does ultimately give us what we want, with a few surprises.
HOWEVER, the aspect that I adored was the battle system. Goddamn that was fun and well put together. Even when there are new abilities and aspects that change, there's no need for a dumb tutorial or anything since the text blurbs explain it just fine and it's all very intuitive. It's satisfying to have each battle as an isolated challenge without worrying about buying items and monitoring MP reserves and shit like you do in most RPGs, and all the skills have great synergy together. Each one has its own purpose and role for fighting different enemy groups which are like unique puzzles that require careful planning on each turn. It's so good I wish I could find a similar system in a full game somewhere.

Exactly it, honestly. It jumps a little too readily into the action. I can get that Teagan would decide to stop Alto in the end, but the way she rationalised it, it felt like someone else. Someone who was a little nobler and better spoken.

I'll talk about it more afterwards, but the things you guys are mentioning are problems that I struggled with while writing it. Teagan in her act 3 "just-fuck-my-shit-up" mode after being yelled at by Alto on the pier is a really hard character to work with, while the Nuclear/Shadow Teagan and heroic Teagan from Duet felt absolutely natural to write. It's also kind of a problem that her character arc is pretty much done by the opening cutscene (unless, like you said, she makes a decision that doesn't result in most of the story happening), so it actually ended up feeling to me like the other three characters ended up being more interesting in Teagan's own game. t. duetanon

I almost want to say that your problem was in trying to maintain a semi-heroic Teagan in CODA. Instead Teagan should be downtrodden. She failed to protect Alto from her inner demons, so now she must do everything she can to clean up this mess; however fate has decided to make this as painful an experience as possible. I feel she should come to the conclusion that harming everyone she does is her punishment. The anguish she feels is what she deserves for her failure.

Managed to get the filesize down from 12GB to a measly 1,5GB.
Could've probably shaved off some 300MB more by screwing with the sound, but I wanted to keep it clean, so whatever.
