Actually, if you go by the game plan, they're a 5-4-1 team with high emphasis in building the game from the back rather than the front, but none of their defenders are star'd which is why teams with a better plan for reaching the goal could score so much.
Like, take /just/ for example, their 3 CF could easily go in and out the goal area because they're all star players, but since they're sacrificing three spots just to attacking and they made their RB instead of their CB a silver player, Swolecard could easily outfeint the defense, like he did against /ita/. Also the only reason they beat /tg/ was because the own goal let them play it safe, but most teams in the cup were really offensive and this played in their game plan.

A really weird team, can't really say much since the wiki doesn't state the star players and I don't remember them off the top of my head (and even if I did, they're just a jumbled mess of characters, so I can't even point the individual players but their positions).
Honestly, they got lucky to enter the group with easily the worst formations (including their own).
Assuming PES 2018 doesn't do weird shit (which it does), they fielded something like this:
CF CF
AMF AMF
LMF RMF
DMF
LB CB RB
Which LOOKS like a normal formation, but it's got this weird hole right smack in the middle (again, assuming PES doesn't automatically fill it). Essentially, any team with a single CMF (or indeed with a game plan that concentrates on defending or attacking the middle) could by pass half their team with ease, which seems counterintuitive if you look at the player position but the AMF (unless a star player, which I something I found out while watching the games) will almost never attempt to steal the ball, only lower midfielders. They also fielded a three man defense, which is really ballsy considering that they most likely didn't have a star'd one. But then you go and look at the teams they faced in the group and you see:
>/bmn/, who has the exact same formation (meaning the match was an even contest, assuming morale didn't play a factor, which it always does)
>/woo/, easily one of the weirdest formations of the cup, they fielded their midfielders so that they formed a goddamn column, meaning that even though they had a CMF they couldn't use him to ferry the ball upward because uh oh that single DMF can cover the same space the other two midfielders could run into by virtue of being in his designated position
>/unna/ is a meme team, their star players are all over instead of forming a coherent game plan
So it was no wonders that when they fought /tg/, which had a formation that made sense and that could bring the ball forward somehow they lost. If they had won that match they should have been awarded the "best underdog" title.
