No Man's Sky is a great example of a game where the developers are completely fucking separated from reality. The game shipped as a very bland and fucking incomplete mess, and at a $70 price tag. It was advertised and even interviewed on shit that wasn't even in the base game, and finally years later they decide to make an "expansion" which is the game that they once told people they were making. However, the game is still $70 fucking dollars, and the devs never apologized or adequately acknowledged that they lied.
"Hey, we know we tricked ya before, but this time it's different!"
This shouldn't be called an "expansion," it should be called an UPDATE because that's what it fucking is. This indie shit tactic of calling updating your game expansions is for the fucking birds. Conan Exiles did the same thing, CE launched with a very bland and empty game, and then later they "made a free expansion" for a game that was still in early access, and people actually bought it as such.
Free expansion? This ain't an expansion, this is them finally doing what they originally promised to deliver, but you know what? Too little. Too fucking late.
