I remember, a while ago, just having a shitty day. Some family issues, I think, I don't recall too well. Was playing Mario 64 to distract myself, and kept glitching through the sliding triangles in Snowman's Land (and I do mean glitching through, it was ridiculous). Ended up slamming my N64 controller a couple times, it opened up and the innards flew out. Put it back together, and it works to this day, thankfully, and haven't broken anything else. Still regret it since it was so idiotic. The closest I've come to since is my 6 year old mouse. It has those configurable weights, and, the holder was a cheap piece of shit. It broke off from my mouse falling off a few too many times, but it still works otherwise.

I've never broken anything in a rage. All of the joysticks on my N64 ended up becoming loose, but I can't tell if that's because I was too forceful or because they were shitty joysicks. Never had the problem with any other controller.

As for rage, when I was a child I used to punch myself in the thigh. Never even crossed my mind to take it out on the equipment. In my mind the problem was always me, not the console. I don't get mad at videogames anymore. I'm pretty zen. If it's a singleplayer game I just keep trying til I get it, and if its a multiplayer game I just accept the loss and try my best the next game. The only thing that gets me mad is lag, but if my connection is so shit that it's getting on my nerves I'll just stop playing and do something else while waiting for it to stabilise.
