Which Hitman game is your fav and what makes Silent Assassin so hard for you?

c4b7ab No.15103012

>Which Hitman game is your fav

Silent Assassin

>what makes Silent Assassin so hard for you?

It isn't.

>what's your fav

blood money despite the many glaring flaws is still objectively the best

>what makes Silent Assassin so hard

the first two games had almost unfair AI to the point you'd get your cover blown wearing a disguise just by existing, also I can't say I'm a fan of missions where the suit isn't an option because you're not allowed anywhere on the map

8b1533 No.15103018

I'd probably say Contracts is my favorite for how it's structured. Only problem with getting Silent Ass is either having to be right on time or end up waiting around.

>Which Hitman game is your fav

Blood Money, though if HITMAN was offline only and had more depth and mechanics similar to Blood Money, then I would consider it the best

>what makes Silent Assassin so hard for you?

Silent Assassin isn't a difficult rating to achive if you're playing properly. And the game Silent Assassin has a weird disguise system where you can't get to close to someone without it being blown, making it fucking annoying to play stealthy

HITMAN 2 is coming out later this year and was wondering what you guys think about it?

It's strange how the case comes in and out of the series. I don't know what I feel about it yet, it's not going to be episodic like the last one at least, but supposedly will have a couple expansions.

Hopefully the expansion levels are less of a sandbox-ey and just focus on one or two locations like the previous games

I hope you can also carry 2 suitcases.

Or at least I hope they wont make "retrieve the suitcase" an objective and then penalise you for leaving your rifle behind, like in Blood Money

Now that I think about it, IO removed alot of shit from Blood Money

>You can no longer push characters unless there is a button prompt

>Can't take human shields

>Removed the mechanics where 47 carried two-handed items on his off-arm. Replace with him magically hoisting it behind him

>Planning is more limited - can only bring one gun and two items instead of the standard kit you got in Blood Money

>Worse throwing mechanic

>Every melee weapon is now a QCE

>Coins are less OP and are limited, 47 also throws them like a pansy now

>No Weapon Customization

>Have to play the map multiple times before you can finally play it without training wheels

What did anon mean by this?

7ada74 No.15103144

>>15103100

Personally I still find 2016 to be the better game despite having a lot of love for Blood Money.

Most of what is missing is coutered by different and better mechanics

such as much better AI, better level design, many more weapons and items to use, more complex target and other NPC routines, more events you can trigger and more

a lot of what you mention also has a positive side to it I think

>You can no longer push characters unless there is a button prompt

>Worse throwing mechanic

>Every melee weapon is now a QCE

>Coins are less OP and are limited, 47 also throws them like a pansy now

This adds more certainty when you play instead of having to roll the dice. In Blood Money sometimes pushing someone would not throw them over the edge or throwing a knife at someone or melee attacking someone would not register.

>Can't take human shields

Personally, apart from the first level I only used this to either knock the person down afterwards or to push them over a railing more safely.

>Planning is more limited - can only bring one gun and two items instead of the standard kit you got in Blood Money

I wouldnt say its more limited, Id say it makes planning more important

>Have to play the map multiple times before you can finally play it without training wheels

true

>Removed the mechanics where 47 carried two-handed items on his off-arm. Replace with him magically hoisting it behind him

also true. I would guess that the reason why they did this is probably because some plebs did not know this was a mechanic and would accidentally unequip their rifle and then bitch when they could not shoot back at a guard. I actually saw some gameplay where a retard did exactly this.

>>15103117

>Please make the game easier! I can't handle the immersive realism!

>immersive realism

>realism

Im sorry to tell you this, Anon, but the majority of people have 2 perfectly working arms with which they

can, infact, carry two objects at the same time

bs, never seen or heard of it

also completed all BM for SA without using coins except tutorial.

>I wouldnt say its more limited

But more limited is more limited. It's just contributes more for no fun allowed purpose instead of planning. Either way you could always limit yourself by taking less.

it's garbage and i immediately think less of anyone who says even one good word about it. it's not a hitman game. it was a fucking joke that dishonestly wore hitman's title. don't give me that "durr durr good game not good hitman game" bullshit either. it was not a good game in any sense. the story was tumblr tier fanfic, assassinations done in cut scenes, assassinations automatically failed in cut scenes and the disguises were worthless. it was a linear hallway simulator with fucking checkpoints

the one incredible thing about absolution is how io actually did return to their roots after that fucking abomination. how many times do we see developers hop onto the casual bandwagon because it's free money and then they are lost forever? absolution sold the most copies, but io still felt the need to issue an apology to hitman fans and later gave us hitmantm which i didn't expect at all

>Which Hitman game is your fav

Blood Money was my favorite for a long time, even after Hitman 2016 came out. However, when sat down to get all the ranks and unlocks and disabling the clutter on the screen, I got a better appreciation for it. Hitman 2016 is now my favorite.

I concur with >>15103144 Hitman 2016, despite its flaws, is the most refined the series has gotten. My main issue with the game is the implementation and execution of the online component.

Also, this is an unpopular opinion but I like the new direction they've taken with the music. Sure Jesper Kyd's work will remain unforgettable but this new more suave and spy like motif fits the series perfectly, sadly there isn't enough of it.

>what makes Silent Assassin so hard for you?

You mean the game Hitman 2 or getting the rank in the games? Anyway, Hitman 2 is not "hard" the issue is that missions in that game, much like in the first one, only have 1-2 correct ways to go about them.

Regarding the silent assassin rank, is not hard if you get familiar with the mechanics but it will take a couple of tries before you get to execute your plan flawlessly and then the high will make you want to try a different strategy.

Hitman Contracts is shit

5fd1bc No.15119843

>>15102916

>Which Hitman game is your fav

Blood Money because it's the most complete and polished. Would be 2016 if it had a few more missions and the story was complete.

> what makes Silent Assassin so hard for you?

Retarded disguise system. It just didn't feel right at all, Contracts did the disguise system in a similar style but far less retarded.

5fd1bc No.15119908

>>15103072

Death to Spies and a few other games made by the same developer (Alkehine's gun or whatever) exist.

>>15103045

I feel like it's a publisher thing. Remember that it's being published by the astoundingly shitty WB Games, so they wanted them to have 4 different editions that you need an excel chart to explain.

>>15103935

Not a fan, however 7th gen was really lacking in stealth games meaning you took what you could get, and you had to stay positive and only look at the positive aspects of shit like SC:Blacklist and Absolution. I think it was fun enough as a casual game but it really wasn't like Hitman.

>>15110037

I've argued over the OST with other people too on another site. I think that the new OST flows amazingly with the game and it never feels out of place. The reactivity it has with your gameplay has improved considerably since the earlier games, and the music has never felt plain annoying to me like it has in Blood Money.

I really like the sleek spy movie styling of the new OST though, I hope Hitman 2 OST is made by the same guy (definitely sounds like it from the E3 footage at least.)

>>15119791

I don't really agree with that. It had a well balanced disguise system and the darker and edgier tone was pretty great. Better than C47 and Silent Assassin, at least.

25242b No.15119948

>>15119908

>I don't really agree with that. It had a well balanced disguise system and the darker and edgier tone was pretty great.

Alright, to be completely fair, I haven't even finished the first mission. I am merely expressing my first impression

>Seemingly linear first portion of the level gives way to a broader and labyrinthine area

>Can't take time to observe the area because police will storm the place and you have to fight your way out

>Cameras placed in blindspots, no way to know whether or not you're being watched unless you notice the camera itself

>Very little or no places to hide, such a closets

I'll go back and give it another chance, but I just finished Blood Money, and this game seems like it's going to be a step down in every way.

5fd1bc No.15119979

>>15119948

IIRC, the cameras don't do anything. The first mission is actually pretty easy. Either disguise as a patient and go in the room they are keeping civilians in and then sneak out of the balcony, note that in Hitman 2 and 3 you can kill one guard without penalty and still get Silent Assassin.

Get a patient disguise, avoid the sanitarium guards as they will automatically attack you, but they are gunned down by the SWAT. Use your points of interest on the map.

It gets better and then worse. First 5 or so missions are good, after that the Hong Kong missions appear which are obviously a case of a lack of dev time or money, and are pretty poor.

2ebe9d No.15120159

This thread showed up at a good time, i recently got back to working on properly finishing blood money which has been sitting on my backlog for awhile, but it's the only hitman game i've played so far. I like it for the most part but have I ruined myself on revisiting the older titles and are post blood money titles even worth playing? The social stealth aspects are a lot of fun and even playing 'wrong' by just sneaking in and one-popping the target with a suppressed silverballer and walking out can be really satisfying in it's own way

5fd1bc No.15120172

>>15120159

Every Hitman is arguably worth playing. Even Absolution is tolerable if you aren't looking for pure stealth. 2016 is great and is arguably the most refined Hitman has ever gotten.
