Sorta cucked. They made a big deal about the sequel for Insurgency having a campaign with a female kurd fighter a campaign they ended up cancelling to focus on the multiplayer and put female playermodels in multiplayer.
First game is 100% legit, though.

Siege isn't a hero shooter. It's a class-based shooter. A hero shooter is shit like Overwatch where characters can vary wildly in shape, size, function and stats. While Siege has it so everyone shares the same template with permutations.
