As for Falcom, they are the grandfather of the JRPG and arguably the ARPG. Their trails series avoids common tropes of JRPGs and has a wealth of worldbuilding and fantastic writing. The TitS series is a modern day epic of video games in terms of writing, only Joshua's character in the first half of FC wasn't the best. The Ys series is pure ARPG perfection once its refined. Their other games are all fantastic. Really the only ones that can even be called pandering to weebs would be Cold Steel with the school uniforms and settings (and that is only based off impressions; I haven't played it yet) and Tokyo Xanadu.
