>the severely limited release hurt the game as well
You can thank NoA for that. They tried their damnedest to prevent the game from getting released:
>THQ goes under
>Nothing about the game for years
>Surprise, Nintendo is now publishing it (Revealed in the livestream)
>Never brought up ever again
>A year passes by
>Not shown at the next E3
>Rumor starts that NoA may not be publishing it for the U.S.
>Word comes out that Xseed may be the publisher and ecstatic about it
>Xseed responds saying the equivalent of "Fuck NoA"
>Public growing steadily uneasy
>Rumors starting up that Nintendo axed the American release altogether (Meanwhile Europe and Japan are already playing it for months)
>Game get's shoved out the door for it's American release a week before Christmas with no prior word
>Only about 1000 physical copies released into the wild
>Game sold out within minutes
>Scalpers buy up every copy that wasn't snagged by "Day One" buyers
>NoA doesn't release more copies of the game
>Reviews coming in left and right bashing the game
>News comes out that online will be shut down a year after the game's release
>Game fades into obscurity
>GameStop now has the title in stock at numerous places and is selling it for $40
I know I should have been more aware prior to this, but this was the reason why I dropped providing any support I had towards Nintendo (Well, that and the censorship in XCX being more than just "a couple small things").
