If we assume that Echo Fighters from the new Smash are alt-universe versions of existing characters in the main universe, that means that Rosalina is Rosalina no matter where she is, and that blows Matpat's theory out of the water, I think.

E-Gadd created the magic paint brush Bowser Jr uses and the bandanna that makes him look like Mario. Then gives Mario the FLUDD. Both Mario and Bowser Jr are unwitting weapon testers. He was also doing odd shit with ghosts in Luigi's Mansion and shit went tits up.

E-Gadd looked like he was being set up as a new bad guy but Nintendo did nothing with him. Mostly likely due to the fact that mad scientists have been done to death with the likes of Wily, Eggman and Wesker.
