This game was marvelous from a technical perspective. You could lay sand, magma and water in a map that had flows of rivers and erosion. It had you fight against the ever changing nature itself. Although short, the campaign was fun and had a good exploration of its mechanics. It was so ambitious and innovative that it makes me angry Ubishit fucked it up with shitty DRM, uPlay exclusivity and a weak PC port. Too many people never experienced it.

Oh shit OP I actually remember this

Did it ever get a PC release? I just remember it being 360 exclusive

Yes, I only played it on pc. It's short, but sweet.

Reminder that they added Uplay months after release, even though they promised that there wouldn't be DRM before release and released it without!

Fuck Ubisoft.

All I remember is the very ugly TF2 promo item.

Fuck Ubisoft indeed. However, the game was pretty innovative and offered something new. It deserves to be remembered.

Apparently you can still play it with this guide.

>that feel when tf2 will outlast all other games

It's really an odd feeling.

a03667 No.14930241

>>14930228

It works, neat.

9da515 No.14930262

It deserved better not because it was good (it was, but it lacked content in the end), but because it at least was some fucking effort, in comparison to all the shit indie and other low budget games are now.

ebff25 No.14930377

>had the demo on 360

>fun

>finally got money to get the full game

>it's not on the store anymore

that frustrated me.

>marvelous from a technical perspective

No it wasn't, it's just very unusual. I had fun with it though, too bad it's so short.

36fc85 No.14930387

It's still available on steam though.

And yes, as a rule, games by Ubisoft Montpellier, the actual original studio, are at least worth a look. It's with the Montreal branch it all went to shit.

Would've fared better if it wasn't marketed as a 'god game' and marketed as a lemmings game.

9da515 No.14931259

>>14930620

It was probably intended to be a god game, then Ubi stepped in with budget cuts or whatever and they had to release anything. Shame.

Not DOOM, that's goddamn eternal

c2bddd No.14933596

I believe I bought it the day it got a PC release because it reminded me of Darwinia in a lot of ways.

I really enjoyed it with my only negative being that it was really short.

It is right up there with like Grow Home and Grow Up to me in a list of Ubisoft games more people should have played.

They fall into that category of great double A games.

Where

>An indie shit wouldn't have been able to make it as good as it was

but

>More corporate oversight would have gimped the game in a big way

>Both would have shoe-horned some stupid social issues drek

I like to think of a world where shit like that gets made every so often instead of the garbage pile of steam greenlight or the old IP that have well outstayed their welcome.

The aesthetics were 9/10 in that game. Even today it looks absolutely amazing.
