It does fluctuate between 58 and 60 fps for no discernible reason, but I only notice it because of rare sound stutters.
I'm at i7 4770k/GTX1080/16GB ram.
Because it uses Vulcan fraps can't capture it though.

the game has amazing art but the gameplay gets pretty repetitive. the quests a have a nice little piece of art and some story to go with it but the actual quests themselves are boring shit like "give me 10 bear asses" you will be going back to the same levels over and over again for quests for things that you probably already did but it didnt count till you actually got the quest for it. there are only 9 levels and every time you go to a level the narrator says the same exact thing.

Well RPCS3 is relatively new thing and it still missing key features like sound buffering (which usually sorts this shit out) and quick saves.
They're still in some 0.5 version or something.
All other established emulators don't have any sound issues anymore as far as I know.

That got on my nerves as well, after I listened to every narrator voice in both languages in every situation I just turned it off in the options, has been a much better experience since then, since there wasn't really any reason to keep it on anymore.
As for the repetitiveness, that has always been Vanillawares biggest problem, but to be perfectly honest, DC is the one VW game that has this problem the least because of LoC and especially ToM.

But it doesn't really matter here because you are arguing with some retard with an old man brain who can only remember one feeling and one detail about a game he played years ago. It is very likely that I only thought it was bad because I played it with someone who played wizard. Maybe I would find it more enjoyable if I played the re-release, which I recall reading that it removed the spell freeze effect. Either way it doesn't matter because I have no plans to replay it any time soon as I am already going through Dragon's Crown, and this thread will be long dead by the time I actually do get around to replaying it.

If it was our first time playing, how would I know what is good or bad skill levels at the game and what characters would match those levels? Also, it wasn't that he was spamming magic so much I didn't have to do anything, but that I couldn't do anything because the entire game freezes while the magic is cast, resulting in long periods of just sitting there watching the boss explode before I can throw my lowly sticks to snakes.

She's an awful damage dealer, but turning enemies into frogs and siccing your skelly-army on them never gets old.
Also Protection is honestly overpowered, once your figure out, that not only does it decrease received damage tremendously, but it also turns your party immune to knockback.
I've never seen someone die with a fully-leveled proc-spell on them.
And there's a staff that makes it even more potent.

Each game can be configured individually. Settings for Gundam Warriors won't work for Dragon's Crown and vice versa.

I've also heard that emulator devs purposefully made pirated games not work or something, so if you're struggling with some hacked version, try running dump of the original game.

It's one of those games where RPG elements hurt more than help. I'm perfectly ok with random gear and trinkets, but leveling means that if I want to switch class I'll need to play ALL this shit all over again from the very beginning.
Mystara fixes it by making player level up, so when you switch characters they retain power you acquired with different class.
