I'm only playing video games on PC. I use emulators and what not.
Though most of my favourite games are multiplats or those I've emulated like picrelated, Vagrant Story or DMC3.
What games did I miss that you think warrant buying a console?
I'm also allergic to sub-60 fps in real time games, but don't care in turn based ones, so emulating latest SRW at 7 fps or something shouldn't be a big deal.

I might just be an old retrogaming collector who grew up with 4th and 5th gen consoles, but is the latest generation of gamers really Incapable of enjoying anything 59 fps or lower? many console games, especially during the 5th generation were 30fps. 60FPS is very important but it's not a necessity. Despite what some of your emulators might say, 59.9 fps isn't 60fps, it's 30 in most cases. It's just matching the consoles output of 60hz.

they use a technique called field based rendering which when played on a non-interlaced display produce artifacts.

You might have an excuse for some turn-based game or press x to cut-scene movie, but proper skill-based video games are unplayable under 60 fps.

emulators show the meeting up with the refresh rate, you can set them to the framerate, but generally you want the refresh as this is far more relevant to slowdown. These are games which tied game speed to frame rate.

I get it completely and I am old. I went from playing DS2 on PC and then tried Bloodborne on the ps4 I split with a relative for exclusives. I thought there was something wrong with my PS4 as it seemed that it was very choppy. I decided to wait for the PS5 remake. It's sad.

Now, consoles main attraction has always been japanese games throughout generations, but the problem is that they followed the same 'digital services' trend that is very anti-consumer. The current gen of home consoles was pretty weak (the first 4 years of the PS4 were abysmal, and only started to get a bit more interesting thanks to a couple of nip games)

By that same metric, spending your hard earned money on multiple consoles and platforms as well as the extra cost of the expansions for said consoles is inexcusable kikery. From an objective standpoint you can play more games on the PC than any other console in existence so objectively you have to give it more credit.

I grew up with 15-30 fps and now enjoy 144, the difference is if you play vidya like 90% of normalfags or if you are a gamer (ie. primary hobby).
As for industry standard that would be ~500 fps as that is when no one could see improvements beyond that point when the BBC tested what humans can see 2 years ago.
