the comparing cars to video game classes/items/characters/ship to excuse pay2win or grind has always been so fucking stupid. The Fiesta and the GT will both reach the legal speed limits and even a bit beyond that and will drive on any paved road might encounter. Meanwhile, if the cars worked like video games the Fiesta would barely be able to reach 30mph and be limited to just suburban roads and you'd eventually *have* to buy the GT if you ever want to go 80mph and unlock access to the freeways.
I mean for fucks sake. The 30 dollar noob ship you get with the base package in Star Citizen goes 175 m/s, has four size 1 guns, two size 1 missiles and only holds 3 units of cargo. A 50 dollar ship goes 250ms, has one size 3 gun, two size 2 guns and four size 2 missile all while holding 8 units of cargo. And a hundred dollar multicrew ship goes 220m/s, has four size 3 guns (plus two more guns on a manned turret) 24 size 2 missiles and holds 46 units of cargo. And if you want to try mining? Well, the starter mining ship is $155. Repair and refueling? Starter ship for that is $200 The entry level medical ship is only $120… but they've said they'll be increasing it's price soon. And CIG refuses to even talk about how much these ships will actually be with in game currency or how long the grind will end up without pouring real money into it. How could anyone defend this shit?

Nothing is more controlled by npc than elite dangerous. Hell, WoW allows players more way to affect the world and each other than ED does. Players can't even trade/buy/sell items ships and money with each other in ED. The most you can do is give people fuel, you can't even charge them for it.
