There are now multiple difficulties, Hard is closer to the original's difficulty, Normal is easier then the original.

You can buy a sub-app to disable the "game over if MC dies"

There are additional extended endings from the law/chaos/neutral

Most have been mentioned already, one thing they have added is a "field save" slot. More sub-apps that I don't know how to feel about like Demon Co-Op R,C, and W along with the commander skills, and health bars on bosses.

Basically. The old endings are still in the game, but now the new character and the new dungeon can unlock 1 more ending for each alignment. The new neutral one is probably the most amusing one to me.

Every SMT game has a bias. SMT 1 was neutral, SMT 2 was chaos, Nocturne Redux was True Demon, SMT IV was just biased towards Neutral again.
