Modchip from 360 guys comes out next month and all it will do is allow you to play cart dumps. Currently you can boot into a special bootloader and make nand dumps, and you can boot into the official firmware to launch the homebrew launcher but when you boot into that mode you can't do anything else because the custom firmware stuff isn't completely written yet. Next time look around before making a thread about something you don't know about or bother to look around for information about.

Hysterical that the people known for breaking DRM are selling software licenses. It will probably be superceded by Atmosphere once it finally takes off, but who knows. The TX people will have no incentive to do much of anything with their solution beyond loading cart images so I doubt it will be very interesting, but they've managed to rope in idiots with a $30 price tag.

I don't know what the timeframe looks like for the TX fw being cracked itself, but the Atmosphere devs certainly have no inclination to do that in the first place.

That is actually the bulk price for middle men, for consumers it's closer to 50$. I have no doubt that they put some nasty DRM in there that might brick some switches. The critical bit is that older entrypoints are discontinued for Luma3DS (8.x onwards), and that has some useful features such as Rosalina, and the accessible menu for things like setting the CPU speed, screenshotting, debug stuff, etc. I doubt it strictly needs B9S but as it's clearly superior to A9LH and all other entrypoints, there's no sense in supporting anything else anymore.

Also one of the safeguards in the 3DS is that the FIRM partition is duplicated, so if FIRM0 gets corrupted, the system can use the backup. If both are corrupt, you get a BSoD error (brick). A vulnerability in this process is abused by A9LH but requires deliberately corrupting FIRM0, so this safety feature is lost. B9S doesn't have this limitation, since it's making a "legitimate" FIRM. Also B9S takes over execution even earlier, allowing things like the OTP registers to be accessed before they get disabled. The old way of doing that was to downgrade to 2.1.0 since that version was not actually disabling that region because Nintendo are retarded.

A lot of DLC refuses to work on games that aren't from the same region as my 3DS. As far as I can tell the problem is that I need to accept the online EULA for them but can't as they want another region's EULA. Is there any way to solve this?
